I and many other scientists now believe that in around 20 years we will have the means to reprogramme our bodies’ stone-age software so we can halt, then reverse, ageing. Then nano-technology will let us live for ever.
The 61-year-old American – dubbed the smartest futurist on Earth by Microsoft founder Bill Gates – has consistently predicted new technologies many years before they arrived.
Here, Ray explains why he believes today’s 60-year-olds could go on to live forever.
Convenient prediction.

Yep, I am sure he is being completely unbiased in that assessment.

Aubrey de Grey: Why we age and how we can avoid it
He needs about $100 million, 10 years, and lots of mice.
Then, another 10 or so years is required for applying the methods used on mice onto humans.
Then, immortality here we come--except for the many who can't afford it.
Then, insert Intellectual Property debate on state-mandated patents.

I'm sure Saxi is blessed with both female and male genitalia. Not sure though if both organs have been brutalized by religious rituals?

The first option in the poll is easily the best, you get the have sex with somebody who has the experience of a 55 year in the body of and 18 year old. Best f both worlds especially if you feel a bit Freudian.

And if you make yourself look like a hot girl and try to sleep with me I'll make you orgasm. No matter how long it takes or how much cunnilingus is required.

I feel like Kurzweil is being a bit over-optimistic (you know, because he doesn't want to die) but I feel like in my lifetime we'll have some sort of immortality discovered.

Hey, I wouldn't mind waiting around until they develop badass cybernetic* bodies. *(is that the correct term? i dunno lol!)
If the Kurzweil (sp?) has plan similar to Aubrey de Grey's, then we wouldn't be heads in a jar. We'd have the means to correct the actual causes of aging via rejuvenation biotechnologies.
It's definitely important that we start working in this direction and that more people realize not wanting to die isn't such a bad thing after all.
But yeah, I'm pretty sure Kurzweil is out of it. I like De Grey a lot more. Afaik he's just working on the science, not so much making crazy predictions.
On the other hand, maybe Kurzweil doesn't believe his own bullshit is only spouting it to try to get more money from scared rich 50+ year olds.

Once everyone can live forever, how does the population crisis get solved?
(a) Anyone who has children will be denied the eternal life nanobots, (b) Other ideas?

(B) People who complain about over-population are immediately shot, no matter the age

Well, if its only about stopping the aging process then technically its not immortality.
A person can die of starvation at the age of 6789, can't they?

The same way it was solved in Adam's "Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy". All lawyers, hairdressers, telephone cleaners, politicians, hippies, street bums, bankers, assholes, idiots and such will be loaded onto a giant space ship and told they are to be the first colonists of a far away planet. They'll be told the rest of productive humanity will be following shortly after. Of course, no such ships will be leaving the Earth. Only the parasites are to be shipped off. Do that every generation or so and there will be no problems with over population.

What are the main problems with the alleged population crisis?

If no one died (or no one died until the age of 6,000) where would we put all the people?

Oh, easy. Into storage units. I'd recommend Safe Guard Storage. Next question.
