We have been witnessing the beginning stages of Phatism. It has claimed pimpdave, as he replicated similar threads in tune to NS and PS' political threads. Unfortunately, his disease consumed him, and the moderators took him out back and shot him.

Ladies and Gentlemen, another has joined the ranks of Phatism: Phat_Bottom, formerly known as Juan_Bottom. His rabid posting of derptastic pics and irrational arguments are the telltale signs. With any luck, he might be saved, so this thread is for two things:

(1) brainstorming for ideas on how to mitigate the effects of Phatism in the fora

(2) remembering the JB of yesteryear

I have been working on a vaccine based on a sampling of phatdave's tissue, but my research has been impeded by my constant urge to hump his corpse. I'll report back if I actually get any work done.

I kind of like his posts to be fair. Sure they smack of PhatScottyism, but they're generally much more on topic and in response to other posters than PS's stuff, which is generally about spamming other comments into oblivion.

I think he should cut back a bit, and stick to the good stuff, but a lot of what he posts is interesting. For example, showing visually where Chick-Fil-A money was going and what the organisations were doing with it.

It's not a real substitute for proper sourcing, but it can make an impact on an argument in ways that a thoroughly sourced post (and BBS, you ain't exactly innocent of posting unsourced conjecture either, non of us are) should.

A lot of the pics he posts are simply graphical summations of things that could be typed out. In image form they're easier to digest.

He, like pimpdave, also has a sense of humor and is an interesting person, which is nice.

Gentlemen, I fully support his style, but we must recognize the dangers of this Phat Epidemic. As we know, it starts out as all fun and games until someone gets Phattied... permanently.


Neoteny, might I suggest you dress the corpse into some clothing you find less pleasing, or maybe you should wear a chastity belt and give me the key, until you make a breakthrough, I'll give it back, but we can compromise. I'll settle for 5pm everyday, as long as you work about thirty minutes per day on this.

Er... I... um... I'm trying to verify mode of transmission. If it turns out to be sexually transmitted, then not only are the three implicated in quite an embarrassing scandal, but we will all be heartened to know that if we wear a condom, we should be mostly clear. Now, if you don't mind, there's science to be done.

Actually, the "JB of yesteryear" can be back in about 2 weeks. We don't shoot people anymore, we just hogtie them and lock them up in a cold, dank cell. Periodically we global mods clean them up and make them pretty when one of the admins wants to relieve some stress.

as someone from the 80's i've always known it to be point 3 so the name PhatScotty constantly amuses me.

A new victim has been contaminated: yang guize, now know as PhatGuize.

I doubt the Chinese even have the facilities to treat this poor man. If anything, they'd probably encourage it if the diseased still support their undemocratic government.

Preliminary results are indicative of a prion disease similar to BSE or kuru. While the treatment options are sadly limited if this is confirmed, it does explain the affected brain activity of afflicted individuals.

History suggests that a culling of the bovine population can contain this sort of disease. In my medical opinion, I recommend the immediate closure of all Chick-fil-as everywhere. Eat more beef, or sausage, as you do.

First, an important question:

why should I take you seriously since (a) you have a history of ignoring other people's pertinent questions, (b) have neglected to maintain the reasonable debate when it goes poorly for you, and (c) frequently fail to concede or acknowledge any of your opponent's points?

If you can answer that, and more importantly prove that your word is not bullshit, then I will feel justified in treating you with the respect, which you have yet to deserve due to your own failings.

I enjoy the JB counterpoints to the steady monotonous drivel spewed relentlessly all over these fora by the likes of PS and NS. They are like little gems of laughter in a depressing onslaught of falseisms. More truthiness is what we need.
