iSidewith.com is a site that takes your answers to some political questions, and tells you which candidates for US president you agree with the most. It also compiles data from users in the US, and creates state-by-state data, which tells us who would win the election if everybody voted based on principle instead of party (btw, it's Gary Johnson, with Obama in second, Ron Paul in third and Romney in fourth. Ron Paul has 28 second places, and if Johnson were removed, he'd shoot up to #1).

anyways, my results came out like this:

Candidate: % of issues polled I agree with

Gary Johnson: 100%
Ron Paul: 99%
Mitt Romney: 62%
Barack Obama: 2% (no, that's not a typo...)

party: % of issues polled I agree with

Libertarian: 98%
Republican: 62%
Green: 11%
Democrat: 5%

I think it's pretty clear where I belong....

Edit: there are 4 less known candidates on there. Virgil Goode and I agree 76% of the time, the other 3 came in under 40% each, but nobody beat Obama's low score of 2....

Libertarian Party candidate. I might also point out that of all my friends who have done this, I have found Johnson's, Paul's and Stein's. Nobody for anything else...

What were your other numbers?

94% Stein, 89% Obama.

However (this is kinda interesting...)

95% Democrat, 88% Green.

Weird, since I side most with Stein, who's the Green party candidate.

This is a very good quiz. Plenty of choices on each question so you shouldn't really have to pick simple "Yes" or "No" (and "create your own stance", I didn't try this and I wonder how it works) and quite a few candidates are considered in the comparison:

Stewart Alexander 90%
Jill Stein 85%
Ron Paul 77%
Gary Johnson 62%
Barack Obama 62%
Virgil Goode 62% (never heard of him)
Jimmy McMillan 33%
Mitt Romney 1%

95% Green
69% Democratic
68% Libertarian
23% Republican

Overall, although its a strict American-context quiz, I'd say its even better than Political Compass

Woodruff's Results:

Jill Stein: 80%
Foreign Policy, Domestic Policy, Healthcare, Science, Immigration, and Social Issues
Gary Johnson: 73%
Foreign Policy, Domestic Policy, Environmental and Social Issues
Barack Obama: 69%
Foreign Policy and Social Issues
Ron Paul: 69%
Domestic Policy and Environmental Issues
Stewart Alexander: 55%
Immigration and Social Issues
Jimmy McMillan: 52%
Healthcare and Social Issues
Mitt Romney: 46%
Science
Virgil Goode: 30%
I think he's a dumbass, apparently.
Nebraska Voters (my state): 57%
Foreign Policy, Economic, Domestic Policy, Healthcare, Social and Environmental Issues
American Voters: 59%
Foreign Policy, Economic, Domestic Policy, Healthcare, Environmental and Social Issues

Democratic: 85%
Green: 72%
Libertarian: 61%
Republican: 36%

Who I side with the most on each issue:
Domestic Policy: Jill Stein
Healthcare: Jimmy McMillan
Foreign Policy: Jill Stein
The Economy: Mitt Romney (very interesting...and not very accurate)
The Environment: Gary Johnson and Ron Paul tied
Immigration: Stewart Alexander
Science: Mitt Romney
Social: Barack Obama

Interesting Results. I'm most surprised that I side strongly with Romney on the economy.

So...how have I never heard of Jill Stein before (I recognize all of the others, at least,
except for Virgil Goode)?

EDIT: Uh...did anyone click on a candidate to see the comparisons with them? I noticed
several times that it considered certain "Yes" answers to be "very similar" to definitive
"No" answers. I think they may have programming issues.

Quite shocking results as a member of the Republican Party, I suppose the balance was swayed since the environment is a more important issue to me than many of the other variables.

oh dangit I misses all that most important stuff! :(

Anyways, did anyone write in their own option? I did on the marijuana question. Probably coulda scored higher on the Libertarian scale, but they didn't give my view as an option. I wrote "Marijuana should be legalized, but NO taxes and NO regulations" to fill that out though, I think it's okay to charge sales taxes on the beaners and the joints we could buy, but no specific weed taxes. nope nope if they are gonna tax it and regulate it, then just leave it the way it is!

Did anyone else write their opinion in? what was it?

It tells me that either he doesn't present his honest opinions in these fora or he answered the questions on the survey intentionally so that the results would look this way.

Just as you'd expect, I score as would a fallen libertarian with socio-centrist leanings.

Don't worry, I won't be invited to come down and vote in your election...:)
