First heard this on NPR, with the comment that the Texas state advises "if you find it.. don't touch, it might be hazardous".
Anyway, thought it funny in a macabre/ironic way. Though I have to say, I found it a lot less funny when I realized it was Hallliburton that was guilty!

Halliburton Co. (HAL) is scouring a 130- mile swath of West Texas oil fields for a lost seven-inch cylinder with radioactive material used when drilling natural- gas wells by hydraulic fracturing, or fracking.
