I'm starting to get tired of Israel. I think they need to learn to defend themselves. I think they need to become self-sufficient. I think the US needs to stop paying their way. No more bailing them out. There isn't anything special about them, besides their massive superiority complex.

I just read an article about how the US taxpayers have contributed more to the Israeli defense budget than Israeli taxpayers over the past 3 years.

American taxpayers give Israel over $3 billion per year (over $8 million per day), more than to any other nation, despite the fact that Israel is smaller than New Jersey and is in the top 30 richest countries in the world.

Now they want us to attack Iran. They want us to fight their battles for them. I'm seriously tired of them. f*ck the Jews.

I'm going to enact Godwin's rule here if I respond, 'cause some other guys have been, "seriously tired of them." also.

Even if you don't like them, you do have to admit that at least they aren't rioting, burning embassies, murdering diplomats, and attempting to repress freedom of speech both in their own nation and the West in response to a 10th grade quality movie which nobody has seen.

I think, given the stress on the society, a certain amount of this is to be expected. According to your third article there have been 196 Palestinian firebomb attacks and six shooting incidents in the first half of 2012. Palestinian terrorism may not justify similar acts from Israelis, but it does establish context.

This kind of violence is comparable to hate crimes that occur in other parts of the world. It says a lot about Israel that the perpetrators of these actions are prosecuted for violence against the Palestinians, but in the instances you provided it went a step further:

Last month, nine Jewish teenagers were indicted for an Aug. 16 assault on a 17-year-old Arab. He was rescued by medics when his heart stopped after being punched and kicked as youngsters chanted "Death to the Arabs" in a Jerusalem city square.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned that incident as "something we cannot accept - not as Jews, not as Israelis."

In addition to prosecution, the leader of Israel personally condemned the actions described in two of your articles, not that anyone would have known that based on what you selected to present.

Can anyone recall an instance when Arab leaders have sought to denounce or prosecute individuals for violence committed against Jews?

And I don't think we should put Jews in ovens or wipe their nation from the face of the planet like hitler tried to or the muslims want to. I'm saying we need to stop giving them so much cash and fighting their wars for them. We cannot allow them to pull us into a war with Iran.

You don't have to sue for peace or sincerely negotiate if your power greatly exceeds those of your rivals.

Totally. They can be as big as pricks as they want because they think we will step in and have their back when they pick a fight with somebody bigger than them.

My buddy was an asshole, and tried to pick a fight, and we just stood back and watched him get his ass kicked. He deserved it. But then one of the other guys stepped in so it was going to be 2 vs our 1 buddy, and that's not cool, so we had to help.

But if Israel picks a fight with Iran, or Palestine, or the entire Muslim world of 1.5 billion people, well, they are on their own.

You have a few reasonable points. I don't think there is anything the US can do to unhitch it's wagon at this point.

If the US feels the need to retaliate for their Embassies being removed from the region and conflict gets big enough, do you want Israel to assist in that?
