Conquer Club

This Saturday at 6.30 at the Broadway Comedy Club (53rd St), I want to do a set in the big downstairs theater.
They only let me on if I can bring 7 people.
I may be able to do this without CC's help, but if any of you guys could come it would be a big help.
If you are definitely coming, you need to say so very quickly (by tomorrow)to help me make my decision.
Of course, if you don't say yes by tomorrow it'd still be great to have you there, especially if you tell 'em you came to see Jonesey.

If I ever make one of these shows I'll be tempted to canvas strangers off the street to come see you.

I'd love to see a show... it's just a bit of a trip see...

I've managed to avoid that so far ("barking" it's called. I have bad memories of Barking, which any Brit will tell you are justified.).

I've been offered gigs where you do just that, and your pay for the show depends on how well you bark. I may do one of those soon.

Tell Uncle Sam to buy a ticket. He might need more than one seat tho'.

It's a bit of a trip from Oregon too You seriously can't drum up 7 friends / family to go? Is it a long ways from your home, thus making it difficult for them to go?? Dude......you can do it.......put an ad in Craigslist offering a cocktail to attendees

Most folks I know are here in NJ, about an hour from the venue - and they're mainly parents of teenagers, with the full-time chauffering job that entails (get son a to friend's bar mitzvah, get daughter 2 to softball match, etc). Also, I've gotten most of 'em out once or twice this year already. We seem currently to have probably 5, maybe 6 if the curlson's friend ( a teen comedian/actor/improv artist who'd like to see an adult he knows on a big stage with a real audience).
The3 other thing is that I do perform locally, so a lot have people have seen it without travelling into the Apple.

AWWW, COME ON! I just came in the thread because I got a plane ticket.

Obviously kidding but I think you can imagine if this happened I'd be upset and expect a private show. I went to see Harland Williams yesterday, I love that guy.

Stand up comedian is one of the few professions I would never dare to attempt.
Male stripper would be fine, no problem. Wearing a chicken suit selling random crap, also no problem. But stand up comedian would leave scars as deep down as the marrow!
You have people sitting there, right in front of you, judging if you're funny or not. And responding to it with BOOO's or HAHA's. But I suppose the worst thing must be............................
silence.
Congrats on finding balls to get up there and do your thing. One of the few things I don't think I ever could.
