which one was lori? was that the mom? or the sister?
The reason I like this, maybe almost more than TWD, is because it's a slow burn and, in that sense, seems more realistic to me. There's not suddenly zombies popping up all over the place like with TWD or the Romero films ... it's like you're drawn into this relatively mundane household and then start to see how they confront things gradually changing.
And it's interesting all the subtle foreshadowing that they drop here and there that something bad is happening in the background even as the public obliviously goes about their lives, like when the kid Nick is in the hospital and the old guy next to him goes into cardiac arrest and the doctor comes in and says "if we don't revive him in 60 seconds, we need to get him downstairs" (presumably downstairs being the morgue).
One thing I was concerned about was when the guidance counselor character offers the fat acne kid Tobias that he can come to her house. I was afraid that if he said yes, then after TSHTF he'd be stuck with them for the rest of the series and then you'd have this fat acne-faced kid on-screen with the unusually attractive family which would lower my viewing enjoyment. But, thankfully, he declined the offer.
