Should the Totenkopf be banned as a avatar??

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=180038 was locked so I started this thread. Feel free to voice your opinion. I personally am against historical censorship. Most countries involved in World War 2 committed war crimes......http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allied_war ... II......In my opinion if the Totenkopf is banned for avatar usage then the French, American, British, Australian, Canadian, Japanese, Chinese, French Vichy, and many other Flags and symbols should be banned as well.

Dude, if porn isn't banned, then it follows that they probably won't ban this as an avatar either.

No this user should not be banned.
No CC shouldn't force this user to change his/her avatar.
No this image shouldn't be banned.

If you are offended by the avatar, learn to control your emotional reactions to outside stimuli.

EDIT:
user control panel
display options
display avatars yes or no

Porn is banned on this site and I could care less because this is a war site not a Porn site.

Let me ask a different question: Why would someone have the Totenkopf as an avatar?

It was a nickname given to me in college. You'd have to ask the people who gave me the name.

Why would someone have the Totenkopf as an avatar?

Because in their opinion it's just a skull and cross bones.

Originally it was a symbol of the free masons.

I really have no idea why anyone picks their avatar except maybe myself and even then I am not 100 percent certain.

No, you shouldn't be banned for having an avatar with a historic insignia.

How is this even a question?

Yes. Intent matters, don't you think?

If someone has a Nazi symbol as their avatar because they sympathize with the Nazi party, is that a problem?
If someone has a Totenkopf symbol as their avatar because they sympathize with the Freemasons, is that not a problem?

Umm, no ?

Not as far as CC is concerned anyway. Or should CC be able to regulate my thoughts now?
As long as he's not actively harassing members, who gives a shit what's in his mind.

Okay, let's hypothetically say it was a Nazi symbol (and not just a stupid skull and crossbones) and continue the discussion. The person bringing the C&A report should be banned.

you guys are weirdos... so it's ok to make an apology of slaughter war crimes, deportation by using it as an avatar? survivors of the hollocaust are still in this world, nice respect for thm tolerating that some ignorant idiots make the apology of SS.

why wouldn't it be ok then to use KKK, al qaeda, serial killers and britney spears avatars?

Did the Freemason, (arguably nefarious but well known as an active charitable {children's hospitals for example} organisation) just get lumped in with the nazis?

You are correct and the Wolf was Hitlers nickname and he named one of his dogs Wolf. He also had a home , the Wolfs Lair.

i didn't but you guys are mixing up everything. skull and bones is a symbol used by many different organizations that have nothing to do with each other, the discution here is not about another conspiration theory...

this particular skull and bone logo is the SS one, so stop deviationg with yale, freemasons, pirates and ancient prussian army logo or whatever. this particular skull and bone is the one from the SS.

Is it ok if i have an american flag burning as an avatar? or a coran burning?

the che is responsible for thousands of death. anyway, here people argue for the sake of arguing. Is that particular wolf the one from the nazi party? so stop being an assclown.
