Now we are that much closer to pope Benedict the 19th.

Well, the last time a pope resigned was in 1294, so I suppose it was about time it happened again.

Personally, I'd like to see a sleestack contender in the list of possible next pope candidates. f*ck me, if they actually got a cardinal to wear that green rubber suit, complete with big pointy hat and those fly red shoes, I'd convert to Catholicism !

I think some prophet said that Benedict XVI would be the second-to-last pope. So, apocalypse coming soon! Maybe zombies?

My favorite part of this whole thing is the report that there may be a black pope for the first time in 1500 years.

He's kind of cheating out of it if you ask me. Why would he not want to die a pope? What kind of Catholic would possibly not want to die a pope? (inb4 a sensible one, ha ha, we all feel bad about your childhood abuse, get over it.)

I thought that it was part of the job description.

If I was pope, and going to stay pope until I died; I would let priests get married. I would let all the Catholics use condoms. I would use Lasagna for the Eucharist instead of a wafer. I would have a kegger every second Saturday of the month at the Vatican.
