If your country could annex another country, which would you want it to be?

Easy question for any Swede, we'd take Norway! We want that oil!!
I take it Mexico is the americans country of choice ?

In the 1970s one of the smaller former British colonies in the Caribbean offered to become part of Canada. I forget which one it was now, Anguila maybe, or Turks and Caicos. Anyway, our government showed no imagination and didn't follow up.

It would have been the perfect marriage. Canadians would have gained a tourist destination in the sun that they could go to without dealing with exchange rates and customs and stuff, while the Caribbean island would have gained a preferred market status among 24 million potential tourists without losing any of the market it already had. A common heritage as former members of the British Empire would likely mean that there would be a lot of overlap in legal systems and politics and the marriage could have been done seamlessly. Of course, it just made too much sense for the retards in Parliament.

the same can be said about Australia & New Zealand. our nations are so close we have united professional sporting comps, our legal systems are related and our consumer protection agencies combine resources to set 1 standard across the region.

Hmmm... thanks for the offer but there are absolutely no advantages for NZ to incorporate The West Island into our Dominion until you lot sort out your cricket team...

In a more logical perspective, belgium, at least the french part, and the french part of switzerland.
