General Salim Idris who is was the leader of the Free Syrian Army has been run out of Syria by the more extremist Al Aqeda backed rebel factions and then took over key warehouses containing US supplied military gear.

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... 7247,d.eW0

from the article wrote:Gen. Idris flew to the Qatari capital of Doha on Sunday after fleeing to Turkey, U.S. officials said Wednesday. "He fled as a result of the Islamic Front taking over his headquarters," a senior U.S. official said.

An Islamic Front spokesman also said Gen. Idris had fled to Turkey.

The Front took over the warehouses and offices controlled by the Supreme Military Council, the moderate opposition umbrella group that includes the FSA and coordinates U.S. aid distribution, officials said. They also seized the Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Turkey, near the warehouses in the town of Atmeh.

There was no actual fighting, as the FSA couldn't even protect the warehouses in the first place-

from the article wrote:U.S. officials say there was no battle for control of the facilities between the SMC and the Islamic Front. One senior U.S. official said the takeover amounted to "an internal coup." But other U.S. officials disputed that characterization.

U.S. officials said the Islamic Front offered to help protect the headquarters and two warehouse facilities from harder line groups. Then, when the Islamic Front came in and helped secure the sites, "they asserted themselves and said: 'All right, we're taking over,' " a senior U.S. official said.

So pretty much when we delivered weapons and supplies to one rebel faction, they went ahead and turned over that equipment to another faction (one much more hostile to the US).

It appears that the US State department has finally come to the conclusion some of us had already come to long ago-

from the article wrote:The U.S. decision to suspend the delivery of nonlethal aid to rebels in northern Syria is another blow to American efforts to strengthen and unify insurgents fighting Bashar al-Assad, analysts say.

The State Department said Wednesday it made the decision after Islamist groups within the opposition captured a warehouse and headquarters of the mainstream opposition alliance backed United States.

The decision reflects the challenge the United States has in supporting a fractured opposition where extremist groups are gaining an edge over moderates.

"There is simply no way to separate the two," said Michael Rubin, an analyst at the American Enterprise Institute.

That conclusion being that the US arming of supposed moderate rebel factions will just lead to much more extreme and dangerous factions getting their hands on that equipment.

So, how is this to be spun?

Notice how Syria has completely fallen out of the news cycle and all the chickenhawk e-activists have packed-up their faux outrage and moved onto other things? Syria was just another drive-by dalliance for them, like Gunna Get Koni! Their passionate concern with the Levant have been stowed in the closet and they're now focused on the Golden Globes.

Yesterday, Seymour Hersch revealed that the Obama regime lied about the intelligence that led to accusations of the use of chemical weapons by the government of Syria. So we're proved right - just like Bush and Yellowcake. And Israel got exactly what it wanted all along - a castrated Syria with no capability to defend herself against Zionist nukes. Obama and his supporters, once again, carrying water for Tel Aviv. One evil man and ten million dupes and morons.

Yeah, well, ya gotta subsidize those rebels because innocent people are being killed.

That argument sounds so legit before the negative, unintended consequences kick in.

The entire Middle East needs to be corporatized. Globalism as a whole will never work unless the Middle East is tore down and rebuilt with TNC's and NGO's. Will Colon Powell finally get his Middle East Free Trade Agreement he wanted some years back? The foundation needs to be set up before the monetary colapse. A cashless society built on strict credit lines. In my crazy opinion thats some years away. Plans within plans dear Watson. The media is the 4th branch of the government. Thats why all the major networks play all the same TV shows just with different names or play all the same specific news segments at the same times.

The Prime Minister of Turkey - the west's key ally in its war against the Syrian people (the guns the U.S. and the Saudi Israbians are smuggling to terrorists in Syria go across the Turkish border with the aid of that government) and NATO member - has vowed to "eradicate" Twitter.

"Twitter, mwitter, we will eradicate it all!" Erdogan said. "They will see the power of the Turkish Republic! This has nothing to do with freedom-shmeedom."

I might support an invasion of the Ottoman Empire. Err... Turkey.

Notice how Syria has dropped entirely out of the news in the last four months? For a year it was the daily front page of every news site. Now you have to dig to find even a passing mention. Nothing has changed on the ground, there's still brutal street-to-street combat. What's changed is the Israelis didn't renew the contracts with their PR agencies that were promoting the story. They got what they wanted - the minute Syria's chemical weapons were gone Israel pulled the retainer on their New York PR firms. Without the astroturfing campaign to inflate the Syria storyline, content evaporated and the press couldn't sustain the 24/7 Syria reporting cycle. And without that support, the valiant "activists" either faded back into the woodwork, or resumed their search for Koni.

Syria is the world's most dangerous country for Journalists. My theory is that the journalists are afraid to go there.

No, that's not it. It's because the U.S. stopped raising a hue and cry once Syria's chemical weapons were destroyed. That was the only thing the U.S. was interested in - making the Middle East safe for Israel. And to do it they were willing to sacrifice 200,000 Syrians. Once the chemical weapons were gone the U.S. lost interest in things like "rebel" movements. And now ...

As the Syrian conflict enters its fourth year, one thing is clear: The U.S.-backed rebels are losing the war. Assad's army, once dismissed as inadequately equipped, ill-prepared for guerrilla fighting and of suspect loyalty, is chalking up victory after victory.

http://www.latimes.com/world/middleeast ... z2xVgcK5Nn

The "rebels" learned the hard way that the U.S. has no friends or ethical motivations - only interests. Now the rebels will be destroyed, dangling from the clothes line. Good. Unfortunately, though, the strategic victory is the Israelis. Israel's gorilla (the U.S.) gave it what it wanted. And another nation turned into rubble to get it.

The war in Syria has really been great for the US.

a) The A-10 Thunderbolts (aka the Hogs) are being deployed again. This year, the Hogs were supposed to be retired to save the US 3.7 billion dollars. Thankfully, Congress over-ruled it since the money is better spent on Close Air Support than on other government projects - and certainly better spent than in the taxpayers' filthy hands.

b) The F-22 Raptor, pretty much the most exciting plane in the world, entered its first battle. However, Obama and McCain took turns buttfucking the world by blocking production of more Raptors. There won't be many opportunities to see these babies in action.

c) Oil refineries which were refining "Stolen Crude" were targeted. 8-[

d) This has been a great international effort as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Jordan all joined hands with the United States to bomb Syria. As if more evidence was needed, the only way to achieve peace is cruise missiles. It's good to see the US is making the world safe for polygamy again.

VICE news has been in Syria, with an Islamic rebel group (not as hardline as say, ISIS, but still), and from the dispatches there, it is a war zone everywhere. Both sides are using barrel bombs (the rebels using unexploded ones) and grenades and lobbing them at each other with little thought for those caught in the crossfire. There's also snipers that pick off anyone out in the open, so they knock out walls between buildings and what not in order to go from one place to another.
"Eh, whatever."

Can't wait for the F-35s to start rolling out. Without them, all will be lost.

In a head-to-head fight, the F-22s should win. The only reason the F-35s are so popular is versatility. It's the air force... ground targets shouldn't matter. Keep your fighting in the skies. That's why I say F-22s are the way to go!
