Getting involved in motorsports, namely Formula 1
#F1 The Lotus F1 team has taken another step towards quashing rumours of a non-starter by signing a sponsorship deal with Saxo Bank.
Last season the team's financial woes made headlines especially after it emerged that they had not paid lead driver Kimi Raikkonen his wages.
That resulted in the team losing the Finnish driver to Ferrari, however, Lotus were quick to snap up Pastor Maldonado and his PDSVA millions as his replacement.
And that team has now taken another step towards shoring up the bank account.
Lotus announced on Monday that they signed Saxo Bank, a Danish investment institution, as their latest sponsor.
"We are delighted to begin a relationship with Saxo Bank, a fast-growing online trading and investment specialist who have demonstrated strong support in sport through sponsorships in the world of cycling at the highest level with Team Tinkoff-Saxo," said team boss Eric Boullier.
"Saxo Bank is taking an exciting and proactive approach to this new partnership with Lotus F1 Team and we are looking forward to enjoying a long and fruitful relationship."
