Is there something better than Skype?

Here is my dilemma. One of my best buds is moving away. He plans on using Skype. What other options are there? He is a spectacular guitar player but gets laughed at by senior citizens when he tries to use a computer.

Whatsapp video calls, Wechat video calls, Facetime, anything at all is better than Skype.

Skype chat with video was great and is free (if your data bundle allows). I live in South Africa and I skype with my family in Belgium on a regular basis, without an inch. No need to computer computer-literate to use skype either.

Yeah, my mother Skypes. I've never tried it, but if my mother can do it I'll assume it's not too technologically advanced.

Almost all of us from FALL use Skype for text messaging. I've been on video chat multiple times and Skype is probably the best for that.

Google Hangouts or whatever. I've used that once or twice when Skype wasn't working on a friend's machine. But I pretty much use only Skype, and use it every day.

Get a rubber doll, paste a bit of pubes on its chin, sprinkle some whiskey, tape record the same drunken chat and wallah you have a new best friend. It'll probably be a lot more interesting than your average or above average Canadian and a lot less gay!
