Homophobe Freedom in the UK

Postby mrswdk on Thu Sep 14, 2017 9:37 am

Some relevant news items:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/po ... 60446.html

British newspaper attack other newspapers over their homophobia. It's not nice to do this in the United Kingdom, but no one seems to care (other than people like me).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-37748681

The king and queen of conservative guest hosting (or whatever) have been drudged into court for homophobic stuff

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-37748681

A baker who doesn't want to bake a cake for a gay wedding is getting his ass kicked.

Is homophobe freedom on the way out in the United Kingdom? Do you think we see a partial repeal of the 5th Commandment which says that people have a father and mother (through secular gay-loving activism)? Why are British people, British politicians (and gays) focusing on homophobes and not other bigots?

Now people can't even say 'n!gger' without everyone getting in a fuss.

Is speech freedom on the way out in the United Kingdom? Do you think we see a partial repeal of the right to have an opinion? Why are the media and liberals (and libertarians) focusing on black people and not other races?

Is this your thing now?

Well it is an abusive term. Note this isn't really "free speech" as she wasn't technically calling anyone that word, but that she was called that word (which in polite company in the land of where free speech is carved in a written constitution - something the UK doesn't have - we generally call "the N Word" in polite company).

And that, folks, is why you should always have your program on five second delay with the man with the time sniper; so much nicer than the buzzer.

Kinda weird that CC allows mrs to use that word in a variant now in OT. Does OT now have a more relaxed approach than subforums that may or may not exist?

F-word, you hypocrite F-word, start fighting for free speech. You should be on the front lines to allow free expression.

Don't ask me, I've tried to avoid that area of the system (forum moderation policy) because in some ways I would be absolutely worse than anyone in terms of enforcement. Some people go overboard on a blurred marble booby, I go overboard on a not so blurred masked word.

It's neither homophobia nor bigotry. Gay people are 1% of the population yet they are making all the laws. It's time to stop the 1%. It's time to .... OCCUPY WALL STREET!

You could have said "the N word."
That's perfectly acceptable.
Because it's like a code.

ON CC, the N-word usually refers to, you know,... n*cr*b*mp*ng.
I just had to asterisk out all the vowels because that word is so heinously offensive to we People of Colorful Personalities.

It's not really a code though. A code is secretive. The "N-word", is more a kind of cultural acceptance that there is a non-offensive way to refer to it without being a dickhead.
