Not quite rite... Afd went from 4.7%(0 seats) to 12.6%, while Merkel sunk from 41.5% to 32.9%. Now Afd voice will be heard in the Bundestag, first time after WW2.

Better result =/= winning result, and conversely less good result =/= losing result
AfD meets the exact same problem as almost all far right parties in europe. Nobody wants to start a coalition with them. As long as they don't somehow get a grip on their worst and most racist members, their future looks bleak at best.

It all depends how poorly will Merkel lead now. From the initial results she will not enjoy the commodity she had previously.

It all depends how poorly will Merkel lead now. From the initial results she will not enjoy the commodity she had previously.

Considering Germany's economic prosperity, you can hardly call her a bad leader. Sure, she might have made mistakes concerning immigration, but she's obviously doing something right.

Obviously something has to change. Climate change will only aggrevate migrations from africa. I hope a consensus is found on a european migration policy, because unfortunately this is not something one country alone can solve.

and hopefully we won't hear another "Wir schaffen das".

I agree, but the problem is that predictions from both the EU and the UN are that migration could grow by a multitude in coming decades. In other words, we don't have generations time. New solutions and agreements must be reached as soon as possible.

Unfortunately what Dukasaur says doesn't apply for migrants from Muslim background. They dont tend to integrate well in Western societies. They even demand Sharia law in Europe, which is absurd.
