I don't usually think that ignorance is anything to be proud of, but this was the exception.

In larger Oregon cities they're about equal, but once you hit the more spread out areas along I-5 there's more chance of seeing a McD.

~shrug~ I love whoppers. I like Big Macs better if I don't have them for a long time. I could eat whoppers several times a day.

I've only read as far as this comment, so someone else may have already said it, but one thing you can count on from McDs is that they get the best real estate. So you often think there are more of them than anyone else, just because they're more visible. Whenever I see a McDs at the same intersection as other FF joints, the McDs always has the most convenient in and out aspect to it's location.

Oddly though, as poorly as Chik-Fil-A is ever located, the lines are always long there, whereas McDs is often empty, despite it's superior location.

You mean the slow n' out? 4 things on the menu but it still takes them an hour to figure out what you want. I said animal style double-double ffs.

Jones, do you eat hamburgers?

I've been meaning to try an In-n-Out ever since I got to CA, people tell me they're very good. None near me fight now though.
I do like a decent burger - most chains aren't very good though. The curlson did persuade me to go in a Red Robin though and I was far more impressed than I'd expected.
I haven't eaten in a McD's since my kids were young enough to be invited there for birthday parties.

I don't blame you I quit the arches for a while a few times. Duke is probably right about them all being the same. Definately too much salt and sugar, possibly ingredients that would have been below standard for human grade 30 years ago.

I found the only one time I went to In-n-out it seemed exactly like the hamburgers I used to get at the cafeteria at the grocery store with my parents as a child.

Well, you ordered a secret menu thing. They had to find the employee entrusted to keep the secrets.

No. Even though I'm used to working nights, it's still not ideal. Still end up a little fucked up, mentally. Have to drop the occasional Valium to avoid slitting any throats...:) And my dork-o-boss booked me solid nights between Labour Day and New Year's. I have one week of days in four months, the other sixteen weeks all nights.

Wouldn't change my opinion of fast food, though.

The curlson used to love Popeyes. I tried it once and was unimpressed.

I was told Popeyes was the most incredible fast food place in the world on TotalBluff years ago. I tried it in Oahu and it was ok. I was disappointed. We had it somewhere in the mid west and it was still ok but Mrs dimes liked it. We spent a week or so in Bremerton and it was a bit better. Mrs dimes loved it. I dicovered the shrimp was pretty good. They opened one here and ended up going a bunch.

In conclusion it's ok.

Chick-fil-a is better but kind of plain. I admit I love their waffle fries.

I read somewhere that MCDo treats their Coca cola syrup much more seriously. You know with kegs instead of plastic boxes. I guess people taste the difference. I don't drink it so wouldn't know.

Also they buy so much coca cola that coke comes out twice a year for free and makes sure everything is calibrated correctly at each MCDs

Tried Popeyes once....didnt like it. Tried Chick-a-whatever once (big hullaballoo when they started opening here...people camping out in the parking lot...WTF?)....wasnt impressed.

My fave places are the old family owned drive in type....Mikes is a popular one around here...2 or 3 locations total. Killer pastrami burger.

Burgerville is a pac NW chain, owned by a family outta Vancouver, WA. Not a lot of them but super popular as "high end" fast food....and their prices relect it. I refuse to go there....can go to a real restaurant for those prices.

So, does everyone hate Taco Bell? I fucking love it.....lol

Has anyone else gone to Seattle and had a burger from Dick's? They won't do anything other than what's on the menu. All burgers are pre made wrapped and will be put in a bag. Decent quality, fast service but no substitutions. You're either having ketchup and mild mustard or lettuce and the feature condiment, which is chopped pickle sauce, I think the base is mayonnaise.

Ok, I found the menu and they decided to make it so the staff does not have to explain pickle sauce anymore. It says, mayonnaise and pickle relish now.

http://www.ddir.com/menu/

I like ketchup, pickles, tomatoes, onions and lettuce, with mustard or mayo plus I prefer flame broiled, so it's not my favorite.

So they had another round of "What fast food joint" at the quiz last night. Only one table got all 11 right, though all but us got 9 or 10. Answers included Arby's, Jack in the box, A & W, and places I never heard of.
The table that got it all right was a team of three, and weighed about half a ton between them.
