Where is it?
in line with recent developments/complaints about the Trash Can forum, bigWham has decided to temporarily suspend the Trash Can, pending his review.
Will it return?
That will depend on the result of the review and discussions within the admin/senior mod team that will occur after bigWham has completed his review
Will there be changes if it does return?
Again, that will be dependant on the review and following discussions.

If you are here to troll, expect the mod team to come down on you with full force.

Why don't you make the "Trash Can" a usergroup with a private forum.

The Trash Can had a lot of attention and posts lately from individuals who never post there or at this forum. It's obvious that others decided to bring others to topple The Trash Can. They wanted to blame The Trash Can for the continued decline of CC.....quite a ludicrous claim.

Those that post in TC are unlikely to want to post in a private user group, they liked the fact that the posts were somewhat public, even if they were hidden from non-members and search engines.
We do have a private user group which replicates the trash can (quomedy qlub ???) but its rarely used.

Dear bigWham,
Board games by nature are family friendly. The Trash Can has become a distraction and an endless irritant to the community. Please make the removal of the Trash Can permanent and allow the mods more abilities to protect the friendly nature of our site.
Respectfully,
HitRed

We know for a fact that TC has not caused the decline, but neither has it managed to reverse the decline.
Just wait for the review to be over and we will have some facts.

Thanks for your input HitRed. What further abilities would you like the mods to have? (I like the fact I can edit someones post and try and make it funny, rather than having to take the hardline and banish them)

Racism and hate speech have no place on this site whatsoever. If it comes back, do not allow hate speech.

This has been proposed a while ago mainly because it has been highlighted the current Terms Of Use of this site are violated by letting those members publicly posting crap like we have seen in it...
Will see what admin decides to do, either adjusting the Terms Of Use by adding a mention the site may contain "18+ data" or just not reimplementing a Forum where only few members thinks what they do is directly related with a gaming site, where under age member could potentially see it browsing public Forum(s).

I see worse things happen in game chat, live chat, avatar, private message, wall message and shared video content outside of the Trash Can. It is definitely not our site's Wolfsbane. Really there is no end to this sort of thing so long as invisible people are allowed to submit messages.
It is going to continue wether there is a designated area for it or not.
The only question there should be is: Does the community team want to see it as a whole?
When their answer is "yes" then expect lots of scrutiny because they by nature are then associated with it's reprocussions.
When their answer is "no" then expect lots of scrutiny still because they by nature are then associated with it's history despite the community team's majority approval being bypassed.
If there was no discussion permitted whatsoever and someone with ultimate authority took a definitive stance on the matter, there would be no existing fence to rest posterior end.
This discussion should have been held with Team CC immediately after someone was inspired by Brad Pitt's rockin' bod in Fight Club. I mean, I know he's crazy hot but talk about premature.
Re: Trash Can - Major Change To The Foe Button - choose why

Major change to the foe button.
I want to foe _______.
Then player must make a choice.
Reason
1) Gameplay
2) Bad Language
3) Abusive Language
4) Just don't get along.
Choosing 2 or 3 will promp a mod to review posting in game chat. If needed a mod will contact foed player with a warning.
Coding should be easy. Tracking a player over time should be easy.
HitRed
I will make this a new thread tonight.

Maybe I'm not understanding? Do you want more or less players?
One thread people(you included) are saying it's terrible that there is site decline. Here people(you included) are saying we should eliminate players and create further site decline.
This is the fence that I'm referring to. The fence is what needs to be removed. Not the patrons. There is already rules in place for offending patrons. They may not always be executed swiftly or even at all, much like the offline world. Sucks doesn't it? Except life goes on and still much clicking to do!
You see, the patrons we can tolerate, it's this
"the rules and foe button isn't enough" mentality that doesn't align with what should be our site mission. Attracting players and maintaining their interests so that they spread good word of mouth, our sites best means of advertisement. I would argue that constant bickering in public areas about the sites weaknesses are equally as damaging as the situations themselves. Is it that hard to instead accentuate the positives like some more studious leaders are attempting to demonstrate? Maybe join the team and allocate that extra time of yours to make things better instead of cursing into the sky.
Now if you're implying that these types of players are what is causing site decline then you are a genius and have solved all of our problems in a single sentence. Thank you, xroads. Thank you thank you thank you I could just kiss you but.. you know.. I got the.. yeah.

Ah you are so funny
I joined shortly before you did, so you remember what an active gaming site was actually like.
Why do I bitch? Because the site is circling the toilet, and bigwham doesn't really seem to give a shit. Nothing is being done to improve the site and make it better.
This is a gaming site, not a forum community site. The forums should support the games not vice versa. How many people do you think have left CC because excessive rudeness in forums, game chat, live chat, etc?
Also I have been a paying customer for 11 years. As a customer who pays $$ every year, I have a right to bitch when the product sucks.

I bought more than 11 memberships just last year alone and I'm having a good old time, bubb. + I don't even post in the Trash Can.
Have you ever considered it might be perspectives that are circling the toilet?

Numbers dont lie.
20,000 users 10 years ago, 5500 today. Downward spiral year after year.
