How long is the train trip from Bogota to Paris?

Pretty sure the train goes on a ferry, so it's actually a ferry ride.

Well, it depends...from Bogota, you still have to travel 1000 km to reach the Caribbean coast. From there, either in Barranquilla or in Cartagena, you can get into a boat or cruise, that can take you to, lets say Rotterdam or Antwerpen, and from there you will have to figure it out to reach Paris, should take a couple of hours more. Lets say, in total, at least 2 weeks. Now, if you go for leisure, the trip can take a couple of months, taking a cruise of your choice. Unfortunately there is still no train available.

How long from Bogata to Macondo?
this makes more sense. That would be around 8 hours by car or bus...to the historical inspiration of Macondo, which is Aracataca. At the time of Gabriel Garcia Marques, that trip could take up to 3 weeks by boat in dry season, if the Magdalena river was not deep enough.

Cortés never made it so much into the south...you know, from DF to Aracataca can be around 3500 km....that is land distance...more or less what is between LA to New York, maybe that is more close to your idea of distance
