Jair Messias Bolsonaro, who has said he is an admirer of TRUMP, has won 47% of the vote in the first round of Brazil's presidential election, putting him on track to win a majority in the run off. Bolsonaro is recovering from injuries he received in an assassination attempt orchestrated by progressives in Brazil several weeks ago.

Bolsonaro is a former army officer representing the Social Liberal Party which is an outsider party that only has nine seats in the Chamber of Deputies. He has pledged to drain the swamp in Brasilia and forge a populist alliance with TRUMP against shared enemies, and to walk Brazil out of BRICS.

With a population of 210 million, Brazil is the second largest country in the Americas.
