the guy at my post office said trump was racist because Somalian is a Race.. not a Nationality..

I might be convinced that the ‘race card’ is played too much by some.

I am also smart enough to acknowledge that I don’t live in the shoes of a minority race, and as such my life experience is so different that it’s nearly impossible to get inside the head of someone who has experienced racism, convert or overt... so it’s often hubris to judge someone too harshly when I don’t have their experience.

That all said being called a ‘Nerd’ never had the impact that being called a ‘Racist’ has today.
Additionally, ‘Nerds’ never went out to harm a different groups of people for no real reason.

Comparing these two ‘names’ or groups of people is ridiculous... but not in a funny way... in a dumb ass way.

you do not have to be a minority in order to experience racism. nor a non-white person to experience racism. racism isn't a whites do it to other groups scenario..
maybe you just interact with a high majority of people your own race & never step outside your 'box' or notice when someone who is not your race is being racist towards you.

you do not have to judge someone else if you .. personally, have never experienced racism .. other people have experienced it.

you can not get inside the head of a woman who's been raped.. or a child who's been abducted or a white farmer in South Africa whose land was taken solely because they were white.

so if you can not judge the situation or get inside the head of someone who has. then why even spout your opinion on the matter. ?

being racist does not entail ' going out to cause harm to another group of people"..
a 95 year old black grandmother can be racist towards Asians. that doesn't mean she is going out and causing harm to the people she hates

Lumumba was killed by the CIA like 3 months into his presidency; weird flex but OK, National Review. Also, Bolivia is doing mostly fine. I'd love an analogue of Evo Morales for president.

Anyways, cute article, but the reason that socialism would work in the US is that the Northern European countries, like us, were already wealthy (thanks in no small part to colonialism) and had trade relationships with most of the world. The other ones the article mentions have very few trade partners, and things got worse when they got fewer partners.
