The New York Times geolocates the place of business of the company to New York.

Contrary to popular belief, New York was not named after York, England. It was renamed from New Amsterdam to New York in honor of the fifth Duke of York, with "New" added simply to differentiate it from the larger York, England. When York ascended to the throne as James II he ordered the capture of Dutch forts in Africa to help facilitate the English slave trade.

Should the New York Times rename itself to simply "The New Times?"
