I know you guys don't care much about the football in the olympics, I know there's not such distinction for European clubs (sub 23), but I'm a bit excited. Mexico keeps doing very well in young divisions, winning 2 sub-17 world cups and now this sub-23 team is in the final against Brazil.

The final is saturday. Wembley, Mexico vs Brazil, it means a lot for Mexican football. Players to follow from the Mexican team are forwards Gio Dos Santos, Oribe Peralta and Marco Fabian, and also defenders Diego Reyes, Mier and Salcido.

Who are you rooting for, Mexico or Neymar's Brazil?

So who's going to buy a Sombrero and go watch the game to a pub??

I will need pictures!!

GIo Dos Santos will not be playing for Mexico, he's injured. (Don't worry nagerous, he'll be ok in 2 weeks). But it's ok, Mexico doesn't completely depend on him.

Mexico's defensive blocks will be a good test for Neymar, he might pass one, two, but eventually he'll be stopped.

As a Chelsea fan, Oscar's Brazil.

Not sure if a Chelsea player has ever won Olympic gold actually.

Football is on earlier than I thought - going to support Brazil as their team is just too cool not to support. Sorry. Also, wasn't worried about Dos Santos, he never plays anyway!

But on a side note, Chicharito will have very few minutes, he should try to go to another team.

Just curious...
Why is it still called "English" Preimier League when teams like Swansea can play in it?

Tradition and history. The Welsh clubs only compete in the English pyramid because those Welsh clubs were formed before there was any sort of Welsh league, so they played against the English. We graciously allowed them to come and join in and be defeated by us, but it's still OUR league ;)

Wow. Wow, wow... wow. What an opening. 16 goals in 6 games, and a few crazy results.

As an Arsenal fan, I'm looking forward to another typical season. Dominate all game, and fail to actually win it.

When I say defeated by us, I of course didn't mention that we'd throw one of our utterly useless teams, like QPR, in front of them from time to time, just to keep their spirits up and all that ;)

Opening day of new season results

Newcastle 2 - 1 Tottenham
Arsenal 0 - 0 Sunderland
Fulham 5 - 0 Norwich
QPR 0 - 5 Swansea
Reading 1 - 1 Stoke
West Brom 3 - 0 Liverpool
West Ham 1 - 0 Aston Villa

im absolutly suprised with the TWO 5-0 wins , when do we ever see one 5-0 win let alone two in one day , a great sign for the season ahead.

already worrying results if your an ARSEnal or liverpoo fan, from the looks of things it will be another race between United and Shitty for the title though Chelski can stir things up if they get good start to the season.
