Risk: 2210 and Risk: Godstorm. Variations on the game of Risk. Can be used to play the original, and has a set of new rules for a fun twist.

2210 gives u commanders with powers and cards for special tactics. And you fight on the moon which is a separate map.

Godstorm gives u gods that don't count as units, but give ur units bonuses, like winning ties when attacking. And that game gives u an underworld map to fight it out after ur troops leave the earthly realm.

Both truly fun variations, the best put out so far.

"gods and underworld" is the valley of the kings.

not even close, at least as far as the moon map goes. can't say on the other

i used to play a lot of 2210 w/ my friends on our game nights. which was mostly an excuse to drink beers and crack jokes...good times

Risk 2210 is the shit. I refuse to use anything but the Risk 2210 armies when playing the other versions. I even painted all mine metallic using some warhammer materials.

But I'm insane.

I could tell you, you are a huge douchebag.

2210 is pretty good, Star Wars and Lotr risk are decent as well.

I never played LOTR, although I wanted to. And I tried the Clone Wars version. I just wasn't satisfied, maybe cuz I played it after the other two, maybe because it's supposed to be played by teams of two, or maybe cuz I don't like the kid who brought it over.

But I'm always open to try games out again.

As for the underworld map. It's got 5 heavens for each respective army. Whenever you lose armies they go there. After you fortify on earth, you have the option to invade the underworld from heaven, which surround the underworld. You do so to capture key points which give you bonuses. Four spaces even allow you to resurrect armies once a turn.

2210 and Godstorm, interestingly enough are played in just 5 turns. It sounds short, but when you play its quite sufficient.

I love playing Risk 2210! I play with a few of my peeps weekly and it's good times. I love this variation of the game. The command cards are great, and the nuclear commander is insane!

You should definitely try Godstorm. Same basic idea, but pretty different. As much of an oxymoron that is.

I'll search wiki for godstorm to find out what it is. Thanks for the suggestion.

I love RISK 2010, but I always play without the gay 5 turn rule.

really? i think its one of the best rule changes they made. It adds a whole different element of strategy. If i want a marathon then i'll pull out the classic board
