Apologies if it is in the wrong area, but I can not find a place for this mafia related topic.
I am having quite bad luck in mafia (As in I get lynched day one). This has happened once and looks like it is going to repeat itself... Does anyone else have luck as rotten as mine?

It's called being new. With a few exeptions all the new players recieve their share of Day 1 lynches. It is because you are either making mistakes, not posting enough or because it is usualy lesser harm to lynch a newbie on Day 1 then chance lynching an expirienced player.

Cheer up. If you play regulary and improve your game, with time you will become a veteran and you will rarely if ever be lynched on Day 1 (to compensate that, you will be Night Killed during Night 1 twice in every three games. )

Well, I think that people want to go at my throat for being a newcomer is why I get lynched along with accidentally saying "Scum" things. I hate when I say something and someone else reads it as scum talk.

Edit: I sure hope there will be more mafia games recruiting. Just message me if you want me in.

Well...I am one of the few exceptions..

As you learn what is ok to say, and what is not, it will get better. Like every other games.

You must remember that your posts are ONLY evidence that the Town has on Day 1, so try to avoid the scummy behaviour like revenge voting, submarrining, vote hoping, bandwagoning (this is the trickiest of the lot because every player has to chose a bandwagon at a certain poin, if he hasn't started one. The trick is that you have to have a SOLID reason why you want someone dead. Try to avoid intuition and "the reasons already stated" ).

Also, if you really want to play mafia, you must contribute to the discussion. Analyze what other people have said. If you are Townie, put a real effort to spot the type of behaviour that isn't really helpfull, but wants to appear so. If you are Scum, do the same, just not on your Scum-buddies. Many new (or bad) players get lynched simply beacause they give of an impression that the Town won't gain anything from them in the forseable future.

Finally, never EVER vote No Lynch on Day 1.

I'm the exeption to both. YAYS! When I started out everyone else was a n00b, so I didn't need to be day 1 lynched. And now I'm not too good, so I get nightkilled first. Also, I'm not a submariner so I don't get lynched on days without proof for that.

I get done of the usual bad luck, but I do get to be the always joke 1st vote person. And also some people question my skill.

Bah. >.< Just because I slip up and vote someone before they roleclaim, everyone hates me. It sucks being a n00b at this. And I do question Fir's mad skillz yo. XD

I have my problems with it, though I have yet to be lynched on the first day like freezie.

im not that good of a player but at first it seems like everone pounces on you just cause your a noob but you will realize you made a noob mistake learn from it and sign up for the next game

Dude, I'm a veteran for sure, and I'm not really lynched on Day 1. (The only time, I have been in a while was 7 straight votes on me, one of them from myself. )

I find it funny when fircoal gets lynched...I dont know why. but its funny when him and twiggy get lynched day one.

How the devil am I to roleclaim if it reveals substance?
Put that in your morning coffee and try for an example and I deserve a penalty of a lost hand... (I would never lose a hand out of knoledge unless it was for the multiverse)
