For something to be registered as a relegion you need a minimum of 10 000 follows and some form of holy scripture or something to follow with the outlines of your relegion etc.

it seems like contemporary social sciences are willing to call pretty much most things that want to call themselves a religion a religion, since semantics can be kinda tricky, most people have pretty narrow conceptions of religion which dont fit in many different scenarios.
