I am Ron Paul.

Or at least I am in the mock election in humanities this year.

Pretty much for the next three months we're having a simulation of the primaries and national election in humanities (which is basically an IB philosophy class of about 90 people).

The Republican candidates WERE Guliani, Romney, McCain, and Thompson. I argued with my teacher until he added Ron Paul to the list (I've been supporting him through emails to friends and family for months now... basically since he announced he was running on CSPAN).

So now it's Paul plus the other for the GOP, and Clinton, Obama, Richardson, and Edwards for the dems.

So now I have to go to school in a suit twice a week to deliver speeches and participate in debates and such. It's kind of a fun assignment. I have a campaign staff, a few bloggers, and all sorts of cool stuff. I'm in the middle of making a Ron Paul Revolution poster.

At the very least I expect to blow the other Republicans out of the water.

So if anyone has some sweet dirt on the other candidates, let me in on it. :)

Here's a few things on Ron Paul to help you out if you need it.

But the legalization of Hemp and Marijuanna will keep me from voting him. :?

Meh, my stance of marijuana is that all keeping it illegal does is make drug lords rich. If it's legal, then at least we can tax the crap out of it to make it more difficult to obtain, but instead of making foreign crooks rich, the money can be used on the home front.

UGH!!!

DO YOU REALLY THINK THE UN IS ATTEMPTING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD AND STEAL EVERYONE'S GUNS??

Do you really think that all transfer payments should be abolished??

Really, young friend, this seems unlike you. Do you know what you're getting yourself into?

Do you have a better solution jay?

The war on drugs is immensely expensive, and just makes those who produce the drugs richer (the harder we crack down, the more their drugs cost).

Don't you think that said money could be better spent on education on why not to use marijuana?

Start with that, move on to your marijuana idea. You don't make something legal just because people are doing it, otherwise we should consider allowing adults (teachers in particular) to have sex with children, seeing as there are more and more cases of this. And we can simply tax it!

Marijuana and sex with a minor are fundamentally different in that marijuana is an individual thing, while sex with a minor harms someone else.

If you make marijuana illegal, you're well on your way to making McDonalds illegal, or anything else with proven negative health effects.

Anywho, point is that it's far from practical to continue an impossible war on drugs. The money would be better spent on helping the prevention of drug use. The war on drugs currently is focused attacking the supply, to no avail. We need to go for the demand.

Now, pacifism probably wasn't the right word to use. "Non-intervention" may have been better.

This has got to be the weirdest alliance I've seen here yet. Xtratabasco & OnlyAmbrose. It's only a matter of time before joecoolfrog & dangerboy agree on the Iraq war.

Shut up Iliad.

I suggest you don't call it a "War on drugs", but seeming you right-wing people like calling everything with a "war", then whatever.

Oh man. When I saw the title of this thread I thought this was gonna be another JoeBeevers but this time with scathing political commentary.....

Haha Ambrose, bet you regret making this now, Xtras your friend!

Btw, your stance on marijuana is totally wrong. Why not also legalise heroine, cocaine, crack, and every other drug on the market? They all have the same principles and marijuana.

I was going to make the same point, but since I'm arguing/discussing things with him in another thread I didn't want to come off as hostile. I think you make a good point, Titanic.
