A "Relationship" Question

This includes a story, so bear with me here, and tell me if I'm out of line.
I started dating a girl I really liked a while back, we only dated for a short time back then, like a few months ago. And just this weekend she got on this kick about how because I don't believe in Christianity(general religion for that matter) its going to cause problems with us. Now we never have problems with this, I leave her to be all talk to her about it if she wants . She's 18 but she still goes to her Youth Ministry and she got back and just lays into me with this talk and it leads to I don't see how where gonna work as a married couple, shes a bit ahead of her self right there any who, because my dad doesn't believe and my parents relationship is strained because of it. Keeps dragging this her parents shit out and out and keeps telling me its not gonna work etc. etc. she doesn't know what to do because she really likes and loves me and I completely ripped into her after that with this is exactly my problem with region, I can stand you but where not gonna work all of the sudden because your youth minister talked to you(shit started the moment she got back from youth group). We go fucking round for round with this shit right eh I just flipped(well just say this for now because this becoming TL;DR) I couldn't take it, Broke up with her, not going in to the juicy details for this shit this is already to much like a gossip column, and my question pertains to this. Is it pretentious of me to think region completely ruins relationships?

I don't see how it should. If both people are tolerating and understanding of the other person's religion it shouldn't be a problem

If she believes in this so strongly, and you are adamantly not going to convert, then it will not work....I know from bitter experience that these kind of things don't work themselves out.
It is better to have ende it before it got serious.

Annnnnyway, it is not religions fault, it is the persons. Two people of different beliefs can have a relationship and have it work out if they tried. I think that people that do bring religion into why the relationship cannot work unless the other converts is either a knob, or is just looking for reasons to make it not work.

I think that you should try to talk to her again (if you still like her) and tell her how you feel (one more time)...

trust me two religion marriages almost never work, i have several friends who one was a Christian and the other not and only one has survived but only after LOTS of ongoing work. the problems start arising when she wants to go to church with you but you don't see the reason why and plan something else. Also a major thing is you will have a lot of influence on her and you WILL make her backslide in her faith, which isn't your fault it is just you are not going the same direction as her and more likely than not you will drag her away. It is for the best for both of you that you split up, better luck next time on finding a girl

It can definately work. I know Muslims and Hindus who have married and both being religious towards their religion, and still made the marriage work. You need to work on you similarities, not you differences, and if you talk about religion try not to get worked up.

The only way that such a relationship would work is if the beliefs of the two people involved were half assed. If you believe something passionately, you look for a mate who believes the same things - it's easy to get sidetracked though if she has a great ass.

Um... Wouldn't work in this case, simply because she lets her religion control her life. You could easily find somebody who has a religion, but it just has to take a secondary place in her life, and you both have to make sacrifices (such as not spending time with her while she's at church or other religious events).
