How often do you brush your teeth?

Reading Iz Man's hilarious comments about the British and their teeth in another thread, I was curious to know if there was any truth in the rumour that the British do not take care of their teeth, relative to other countries.
So, how often do you brush your teeth, and for how long? Apparently, some people use "mouthwashes" and "flosses" for their teeth. Do you use such exotic accessories for your teeth, and can you confirm their existence for me? Cheers.
Personally, I'm British, and I brush my teeth, usually (but not always) with toothpaste for 2 minutes, most days. Not a second more, because I hear that brushing too much can damage your teeth.

Of
course I do. I've kept that routine up for 30 years. I've no reason to suppose that if I were ever to visit a dentist, he'd say there was anything deficient about my teeth.

You can tell Iz Man that he's full of it. The British obviously have good teeth and I have proof...

I do every morning and Sunday through Thursday nights. Friday and Saturday nights are a toss-up. I try to mouthwash everytime b4 I go out, unless I'm in a rush or something. Never floss. Never. Ever.

about 1.5 times a day on average.
I should do twice a day but often I'll be too tired in the night/too rushed in the morning to do so, but if I'm going out on weekends I'll brush more often.
Other than that, however, having a silver tooth makes for an interesting talking point.

Some months more than once. Usually not though.
I tend to floss a fair amount as that's more fun with all the blood and food bits flying at the mirror.
I am a bit of an anomoly in North America but there's a percentage of us.
Add some coffee and or fag smoke and you'll get some good color there. I only have the light yella on the go. I might put up a toothy smile for my avatar later. Mood pending.

I wonder why we have to brush while cavemen didn't. Could all be bullshit.
Once a day every day. Listerine it also.

Once a day every day. Also before I go to dentist, have a date with girl I like, job interview, get drunk (confusing isn't it; I brush my teeth and after a drink or two my mouth smells like brewery)...

Twice a day, floss sometimes for me, also visit the dentist twice a year... My dad is British and has horrible teeth
Can someone explain the concept of brushing without toothpaste to me? I just don't get why you wouldn't use toothpaste if you're making the effort to brush...
If I don't brush my teeth in the morning and before bed my mouth feels foul and furry.

Agreed heavily on both counts.

Brush 3 times a day: twice in a row at night, once with a prescription fluoride paste. Mouthwash twice a day, floss once at night. And despite that I probably average more than 1 cavity every 6 months.
I was blessed with perfectly straight teeth, and never needed any kind of braces or retainers. Unfortunately they are made of balsa wood.

same here except for some tiny overbite, so I need braces to prevent some silly "headaches" in my 20's
twice a day, I try to floss everyday but its usually once every two weeks...

i have sensitive teeth >_>
but i brush twice a day for maybe a minute or two, i don't really time myself. other than that, no floss or mouthwash UNLESS my breath still smells bad after the initial brushing. and despite that, throughout all my years i've never had a cavity (except the last time; the dentist said i ALMOST had a cavity.)

... Four or five times a day, but floss only once. Don't use mouthwash unless I find it on sale.
... 4 or 5 is more than normal, I know, but it sort of wakes me up at work.
... Morning and evening is rather lengthy, but midday is half-arsed going through the motions... maybe if I just sucked on a tube of toothpaste...
...
