Wrong thread methinks?

I would have to say the ps3 absolutely pwns. The 360 comes in a solid second place, not a bad console whatsoever, especially being cheaper, with some good exclusives, but it can't match the features and capabilities of the ps3. Not everyone cares about that, but I do :P

Wii is just meh :/ Awkward, unique to be sure, but not as exciting. Now, if they combined the potential of the wii with the power of the ps3 and actually made a system that produces graphics beyond cartoony mario games, it'd be different. Having the wii controller with a ps3 and the option to use either the sony controller or the wii controller would just be awesome :D Otherwise, nintendo needs to actually make a system with graphical and power capabilities.

My opinions, btw, I'm not stating statistics or anything definite, just my own opinions ;)

Re: Plutoman, Nintendo seems to be doing pretty well by not competing along graphical and power lines.

Nintendo Wii sales to hit 5 million in Japan

With the success of the DS vs the PSP as well taken into account as well, Nintendo would be stupid to change their most successful formula since the SNES/gameboy era.

I'm hoping for some good games to come out for the PS3 soon, but the lineup is weak right now. Most of the future titles are sequels (a charge that can be laid at Nintendo too, but at least they radically changed the way that the game plays). Sony needs to up their game. Graphics, power and special features that will be useful in the future are no real substitutes for innovation.

Oh, the ps3 has a ton of exclusives I am going to love :D Currently quite a few games I love at the moment, too ^^

And nintendo is doing well, never said they weren't, it is just my own opinion that the console isn't as good, even with the uniqueness of it. I don't really like how they changed it, it just is awkward to me, but, like I said, that is me, and I know many people that love it.

And my own opinion is that you need the graphics and power to actually have the potential for a good game :) They don't determine the game, but I do think they are necessary imo. If I don't want graphics, I'll just go back and play starcraft :P

meh, in my opinion graphics don't matter much. POwer is a bit of a factor, but not that big.

As a lot of people know I prefer the Wii, not for the uniqueness, while it is fun in it's own way, I kinda prefer the old way. But as we all know the reason, I'll make it quick. Wii has Pokemon... Wii has Pokemon... Wii has Pokemon... and Kirby (not yet), Mario, and Fire Emblem ^_^

Funny that much of the crap today is raved about today, forgotten about tomorrow. Stuff like Bioshock, Gears of War, and Assassin's Creed may be fun and popular but 10 years from now, unless they constantly release sequels, do you really think these games will be remembered? If so, what for?

I find it funny that Sony repeats the same mistakes the Xbox was criticized for and people are still all over it. Lack of good exclusive titles, original controller design was horrible, console is too big, etc., except now, the price is also too high. All that Sony has is "Well our system is like 10000x more powerful." Well, have fun playing your piece of crap games at 10000x the power.

Nothing personal, but I'm just vehemently anti-Playstation.

And by the way, if games needed good graphics to be great, we wouldn't play the classics like the LoZ or Contra on the NES anymore.

I don't play those classics anymore :P

Edit: Come to think of it, I never really played them at all. I only played the newer games, though starcraft has been quite addictive. Quite possibly the only older game I play without good graphics.

I personally think the games are great for the ps3, they are extremely fun to play, whether or not they are sequels. Kind of like reading a trilogy, you don't read and like the first book, but not go on and read the next books. You go on and read the rest of the trilogy, and it's the same with many of the best games ^^

My opinion too - I like the controller, console size doesn't really matter, the fact that I could actually play crysis on the ps3 is a huge plus, and it has dozens of awesome of exclusives I really like.

It's interesting when you compare the PS2's first year to the PS3's.
Yes, the PS3 did do better than the PS2 in it's first year.
Not surprising really when you compare Resistance and Motorstorm to Timesplitters and Fantasia...

Oh and Microsoft and Nintendo can hardly talk on this point: I'm looking at you Kameo: Legends of Power and Wii Sports!

Ah...more like me failing, absolutely failing, to post a link. If I was old I'd think I was senile.

PS3 has no interesting games out right now and their future line up looks weak. Pretty much all they're releasing this year is MGS4, which doesn't look to interesting. It also has a ton of shit no one needs and was really only ever an attempt to force blu-ray into the market (speaking of blu-ray, it's only benefit is that it has more disc space and can hold some more worthless special features).

Wii doesn't have many games either, but it certainly has more then the PS3. Considering its cost, I could see myself getting one in a year or two once it finally has a price drop. Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Mario Kart, Brawl, Metroid and No More Heroes are all games that you can look forwards to on the Wii.

360 has a decent line up of games and a decent price. Live is great and developers prefer it over the other two consoles, personally I think that a Wii60 is the way to go.

I loved timesplitters. I bought a used version of future perfect a month ago.

How is blu ray useless? Only way to fit the larger games on, and for hi-def videos to be truly hi-def. And Resistance, Resistance 2, Ratchet and Clank Future, Motorstorm, MGS4, Gran Turismo 5, all exclusives, need I go on? If this is your own opinion for games, by all means keep it, but it does sound like your just plain out dissing the ps3. Especially when the systems are going to need the high power in the near future. Take Crysis, for example, on PC ;)

Live sucks, btw, disconnects frequently, messenger doesn't work half the time, many games just "won't" download any updates, and from that, they won't allow you to play online, etc. This is all on my friends 360, and he has a T1, it's sure as heck not his internet connection. It needs some coding improvement before it's truly a good system. Not to mention it costs money, in comparison to the ps3's free network. Wii also has most of it's actual features cost money, too.

Now, the 360 is a good system, not saying different, but microsoft still needs quite a bit of work on their systems before they are truly an excellent system. Wii is innovative, and I admire nintendo for doing that. I personally don't like it, as I like graphics, the classic controllers, and etc, but it is a good system. Just imo needs better graphics :P

Live is still overloaded with to many users, this just goes to show how much more successful it is then the PSN. Also, you don't have to pay to use it (only if you want your stats tracked). You can just keep on signing up for the month long free trial as many times as you want.

Also, blu-ray might come in handy later on, but until it does, Sony's just pushing useless shit no one needs. Maybe once they have another price drop or two I'll pick a PS3 up, until then though, it barely has any interesting games and isn't worth buying.
