Experimented tonight...

I made up a batch of irish creme(ie Baileys). I prefer hard liquors like Gin and Bourbon when I'm drinkin, but someone I work with had this recipe and I'm a Do-It-Yourself kinda guy so I thought I'd give it a try.

Just made up a batch a couple hours ago, smells pretty good, but it says it has to refrigerate for 24 hours so I will let you know tomorrow night if it tastes good. If you want to try it, the recipe is below.

Note: notice it says to use 3 T of chocolate syrup, then tells you how to make the syrup. I was wondering if you can just use hersheys chocolate syrup or somethin similar, but I went with the recipe and made the one it lists. I now realize why you should make the one listed and not use one premade like hersheys. After I made the syrup i tasted a little bit of it and it was extremely bitter because there is no sugar in the recipe for it. You later add the syrup to the condensed milk. Aha, condensed milk has a lot of sugar, that takes care of the bitterness I assume. So I'm assuming if you used Hersheys which is sweetened, the final Irish Creme would be way too sweet.

Baileys is good on coco pops. It's even better mixed with Cointreau.

Is that an American euphamism?

More of a Hollywood thing. Watch "Gangs of New York," good movie, bloody, with sex, good plot, and gang violence of the 19th century.

Quite excellent. I am not ashamed to say that I am a DiCaprio fan. He has a few good ones.

Meh, I liked GONY but I wasn't completely blown away by it. I mean, I'd watch it again if the chance arose, but I wouldn't put it in my top 10 or anything...

Sorry, back to the 'man-cream' or whatever this thread is really about...

I wouldn't either, really. I didn't really like Cameron Diaz in that role. But I don't think Leo gets the respect that he deserves.

EDIT: Oh yeah... on topic... I'd experiment with Leo... and man juice...

TEH RESULTS ARE IN:

I tested the Irish Creme I made and it is actually pretty good. I don't have any Bailey's on hand so I can't perform a taste test. From what I remember of Bailey's, it seems mine has a little bit more prevalent whiskey taste to it, but that's fine by me because I <3 whiskey, and it's not too much to overpower the other flavors. A friend who is over put some in her coffee and said it tastes great so I have 1 consumer report also. WOOHOO!!!!
