Ralph Nader joins the presidential race for like the 5th time or something as an Independent Green candidate.

What do you guys think?

Has to be good for democracy- maybe the VITAL green agenda will get pushed up a bit in the debates. Good on him.

I take it you missed the whole part where he has done this several times before, and failed miserably.

I take you missed the part where God gave out brains?

OBVIOUSLY he's not going to win. But maybe the whole debate/election will get pushed to the LEFT, which is A Good Thing.
Sorry for having a social conscience. Awfully boring I know.
I'm assuming you have no kids/grandkids-as it sounds like you don't care much about the future of the planet.
For which time is running out.

My point: good on him.

I think Nader would actually make a superb vice-president. I don't think he has the stuff to make it ALL the way to the top, but he's one politician that I actually like.

The problem however is that the people most likely to vote for him are democrats. He is basically making sure the democrats have a harder time to win.

Aye, so vice-president would be a sweet spot for him. Win-win, IMHO.

Now if Bloomberg tries to get in the race, they'll have to have a primary!

...right?

Unfortunately this is true. But if the US had a voting system that wasn;t as outdated and wrong as teh electoral college...
actually i don't know how it works in a federation like that. But it grated my carrot, all that 'a vote for nader is a vote for bush' bollocks, because it was completely untrue and made a mockery of democracy. I'd vote for Nader.
