New Years Resolutions- Two Months In Review

I was doing some evaluation of life the other day and I was intrigued about the fact that we always make the same New Years resolutions every january 1st but the majority of the time never actually achieve these ambitions.
I did a bit of digging on CC and found this thread from New Years:

Now here were my resolutions...
Drink less? I've been drinking more I'd say though I did manage to go 6 days without drinking last week, which I was pleased about although it was negated by drinking the last three nights.
Hence, this one can be considered a failure at the moment. However, was I ever going to cut back or was I just saying this under the pressure of everyone else saying similar things just to ignore them as well.
The second point I brought up was the idea of being confident in all forms of life. Well in regards to my love-life things have changed a lot and I feel a great deal more confident in that respect. I'm also not as anti-public speaking. However, I still do have my issues, which I am unable to make proper progress.
My third point was the one I was most pleased about. Since, this is the first year I've lived away from home I started out eating complete shit all the time, cos I didn't know how to do anything else. However, recently I've made considerable progress thanks to the help of friends etc. and when I went home last weekend I even cooked my parents a big meal, which was a success.
.
Finally, my last point is to work hard to pass the year. This is kind of a mute point as I was going to do that anyway, although I would actually argue that I have done less work this semester than I have done in the previous, hence this hasn't really been a resolution as such. My CC time has been cut though.

Try and be more confident in all forms of life.
Try to improve my cooking skills, less being lazy and cooking ready meals.
Work hard to pass the year. (would require cutting down my time on CC)
