And this bill passed the house already, and is moving on to Senate.

no one should say that our right is being tested.

I am all for it. I believe that the will to do good out numbers the wills that would do evil, therefore, more GOOD people carrying firearms would deter the evil mistraught individuals from slaughtering so many innocents.

If just one student or professor had a handgun with them during WestVirgnia massacre, there wouldn't be that many people dead right now!

I support the American right to keep and bear arms. Our schools have proven time and time again that they are not safe.

This is a good bill and should be passed!

Somewhere down the line we have to take the phrase In God We Trust seriously. This is one of those issues where our Liberty in bearing firearms should fall.

You are so full of BULLSHIT! If you are fucking carrying a weapon, you had better be ready to fucking use it! Your comment is BS.

What about the fact that when the SWAT team comes busting through the doors, they won't know who to shoot?

The dead guy on the floor, they can put him in a bodybag and save the bullets.

Good citizens would report what had happened and subject themselves to a report.

Students and Professors with firearms would save the taxpayers so much money, because the SWAT teams wouldn't actually be needed, but only in the most direst of circumstances!

Maybe the tax payer can cut the gunowner a check for the bullets he used to dispatch the crazy fucker?

Yes, I realize that was useless info.

Well...

If the Supreme Court rules against everybody being allowed to carry guns then it would basically nullify that bill.

So, yes, the right is being tested.

I used to attend the Festivals in Arizona every year, but they jacked their prices up too fucking high, so I quit going. It wasn't worth spending twenty bucks to get in and then spend a hundred bucks or more on useless wanna be medieval crap. And all the sword smiths there always SUCK! Their swords and battle axes all look like cheap crap and they are always asking way too much money for their tripe.

I usually payed twenty to get in, forty for a ceramic mug, another twenty on Turkey legs, Portebella Burgers, Stew in a BreadBowl; and probably another forty bucks or more on beer and wine (not too mention buying magic mushrooms from a drug dealer inside the festival...another 100 bucks):

So that would be an average of over $200 spent on a Festival Day!

The federal government would not suggest that each college campus in the nation figure out what they are going to do and have state legislation vote on it if the right was being tested, dude.

Secondly, the Supreme Court can not CREATE laws, they can only interpret them.

So, yet again, nothing is being tested.

i feel bad for you midwesterners. so excited by something as silly as a renaissance fair. i feel bad for you if that's the highlight of the year. i guess i'm spoiled living on the east coast... and in the 5th largest city in the union, at that.

i can go to the park and watch the dudes that practice their sweet battle moves in mock medieval garb and weapons. i played with them a few times. did surprisingly well -- they have point systems and everything.

nothing like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_ekugPKqFw

just soft tipped old school weapons and homemade armor, etc.

it's a little bit more like this, but the cats in the park aren't LARPing, or nearly as bad as handling their weapons. it's handled like a mock battle, with judges and a director, much like fencing. watch this video to see how NOT to use a sword (so many big movements and shitty footwork -- actually the guy in red with the white cape has decent footwork, but his cape gets in the way. prolly why none of the cats i see doing this stuff in the park wear capes, or have nearly so ornate costumes -- people i know seem to do it for the sport of it, not playing dress up):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=add0HI5fmXI

anyway, AD, thanks for posting what you did. you've reminded me to take more advantage of the myriad options for entertainment and culture here in town. even if it is just riding out to the park to watch the reenactors pound each other with pvc and nerf weapons.

This is why I love working for who I work for. I will be able to carry a firearm as long as I am employed, and that should be for about 30 more years.

And the shooter won't be able to kill the student or teacher with the gun?

I cannot fault this logic. The more people who carry concealed weapons, the fewer gun deaths there will be. In fact, give everyone a grenade launcher and an uzi, too. Why hold back when the safety of every american is at stake?

Let's all drive tanks while we're at it, if people can bear arms, why can the arms not bear them?
