New Portishead Album!!

It only took 11 years for them to get off thier asses and put together thier third album creatively named "Third". But I gotta tell ya, it was well worth the wait. That they managed to recreate the magic of thier first two albums after such a layoff is just amazing. I highly recommend any of the youngsters on these boards that are into electronica or anything dark and moody go out and pick this one up. You wont spend a better $15 all year long.

Any one else had a chance to grab the disk yet?

I was leery on that one at first as well. They released that track online about a month ago and I was hoping it wasnt representative of the whole album. So far my favorite track is 6 "We Carry On". It sounds like a slicker version of "Not to Touch the Earth" by The Doors (with a chick singing, obviously).

I want an American Tour!!!!

How could you pick just one??? If I were forced maybe "Roads", "Wandering Star" or "Mysterons"... /shrug I've loved them since I was at a friends house years ago after a long nite partyin in DC. We were finishin off the last of 10 rolls we were supposed to sell #-o and my friend put on a mixed tape of Portishead and The Yellow Submarine and somehow I got it into my head that he said they synced up like Dark Side of the Moon and Wizard of Oz. I was like "Whoa dude this shit is crazy" Keep in mind I was also seeing purple ninjas jumping through the trees in the woods behind his house as well. The only time I got real visuals off of Ecsatcy. Good times.

Disclaimer: Try this at home kids!!!

Ive Been working on the portishead tour leg in London, for a live band they suck generally, but me and a crew of loud mouth riggers, we STF up for the entirety of the gig, Beth Gibbons voice was one of the best I have heard in a long time, she made my hairs stand up on the back of my neck.
Although the band is not geared up to dance to, they had the sub bass and top end sound tuned to perfection, and Jeff Barrows after having several years long divorce hanging over the songs added his sorrowful woes to the compilation.
Check out Machine Gun, rather odd, but amazing loud/live
