Ah, we built the passenger compartment into a crumple zone to ensure precious cargo of substandard products headed for wal-mart is protected in case of collision.

A bird got stuck in our car grill once. We were wondering why everyone was pointing.

I have to correct you on one thing. The safest vehicle is not the "steel truck". The safest vehicles WILL crumble ... but around the passenger. The crumbling absorbs the impact, instead of passing it on to the passenger (remember those experiments with the steel ball bearings in a line?).

Do you want your truck to survive .. or the people in it?

Also, though I would say that truck is unsafe ... the US crash tests are historically at 35 MPH. Which is why a recent news report ( a few months ago) said so many car seats were "unsafe" at higher speed impacts.... and why there is a push to increase the speed at which these tests are conducted. (I believe many already have increased the speeds).

No, see, his idea is that the other cars crumble. He probably won't even slow down.

Nice idea ... but I was an EMT for a "few" years ...

It "ain't really like that!"... physics demands that force met, be transferred ... and bodies make "nice" absorption points ... just too bad the ol' brains and organs don't always survive.
