Who's to say that something else didn't evolve a long time ago? I just can't believe that there are no other living sentient beings out there somewhere. The UFO evidence is piled so high, that to disbelieve it is just forcing yourself into denial.
Edgar Mitchell IS a great American, and others will be coming out with more information very soon. All these old men want their children to know the truth (and the American public).
I think we are evolved enough as a society that we can take the truth, don't you? I mean, if they came out with this info back in the 1950's, there would have been pandemonium, but now, I think we would all take it quite calmly, as long as the aliens weren't going to eat us!
