If you look at under-age sex alot of the time you will find it is between a adult and a child, i don't know if this is the case but i think the child should be punished for under-age sex if he/she has sex with a adult (obviously the punishment would be lighter than for the adult) and that may bring the level of underage sex down (hope so...).

Actually, this happens reasonably often when two underage people have sex. The boy gets criminally charged with statutory rape, even though they might be the same age. I have yet to hear of any cases where an underage girl gets charged for having sex with an underage boy. Talk about double standards!

Isn't the whole reason it's illegal because children aren't mature enough to make that sort of decision?

But they are mature enough to be punished for that decision?

I won't get into my opinion on the subject, but aren't children punished for immature decisions every day? For example, when I was younger, I nearly lit the woods on fire. Should I have not been punished in some way?

It's not the decision itself (i.e. the result) that's immature: people have sex with people all the time. It's that they don't have the necessary maturity to make such a decision.

now, im againsts rape and all that shit, but this is an aweful awful idea...if an older guy is having sex with a younger girl and she may get in trouble to, your increasing the chance that the girl is going to claim to have been raped, therefore fucking the guy over even harder, no pun intended
