Please come up with some really stupid (but believable) made up brand new conspiracy theories. I'll make a poll when we have 6-10 really good ones, then the winner will be argued for and against by the usual suspects of each side of the fence.

Just for a change.

Here are a couple of mine.

The Chernobyl disaster was caused by a British Secret agent turning a big red handle to 'Danger" to thwart Roman Abramovich's world domination plans in 1986 (no James bond film was made in 1986 btw)

Formica was a substance unknown to man until Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station decoded an alien radio signal and made ICI billions during the seventies.

American football is shit but the American public own mind altering tv sets that make them believe it's better than football. This is why American tv programmes in the eighties looked weird on our superior quality John Logie Baird sets. Since the eighties, England has been given the same sets, and we now believe the England team can win the World Cup.

For theories, how about this: The Mayans did not die back centuries ago, they were lifted off into space and will be returned with the knowledge to completely dominate the earth (these are the "giants" referred to in the early part of Genesis).

OK, here's one which an aging hippy told me - he actually believed this:
Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin were assassinated, (By "Them" of course).
Why? Because they were super-rich, enthralled by the whole "half a million strong" nation of Woodstock, and had plans to buy enough land to set up an independent Hippy nation in land they were going to buy..

There is actually a fifty-first state, whose election results get subtly factored into the overall counts. This state resides in that spot on the USA map that you can never quite seem to remember the borders very well... due to government mind control.
