Serioulsy? The socialist movement has tried to oppress hats in britain for nearly a century and there are just a few places left where one can express their love of silly hats in private. Does your country suffer from these horrible measures too?

You know, this is very interesting.
The main consumers of silly hats in the US are African-American church-goers. In a lot of Black churches it's customary for women to wear the same kind of silly hats that British women wear to formal and semi-formal events.
WHY?

this is more of a silly helmet than a hat, per se:

I wonder what Nobunga's views are on this.

Again, less of a silly hat than an advertisement of the wearer's homosexuality:

ah well theres times when a silly hat comes in quite useful. Namely At festivals. I am off to V festie on the 14th august. First stop off at the silly hat stall, as when your mates are in the crowd and its your turn to go get the beers its a lot easier to find them again when they have ridiculous hats on. I'll be sure to post the pictures when I get back!

This is just one of your run-of-the-mill ass hats at the Melbourne Cup...

...but this next one is our former Prime Minister. This is not a joke, it has not been photo-shopped. This is our former Prime Minister. And you thought Dubya was a deadshit...

I have found that being above average height usually designates me as the "place holder" at concerts, making the silly hat redundant. However, the silly hat method is quite useful. I have a silly (and highly visible) baseball cap I've carried with me to concerts for that exact purpose.
So, get a tall friend.

A: Silly thought. Obviously the answer is no.
