Anyone wanna guess which country is gonna win the most gold medals?
I say USA because they're dominating swimming (and is probably gonna pwn in track and field) and that's where many of the medals come from...

I voted usa purely because of track and field, if it wasnt for track and field I would have plumped for China.

Bit ambitious to put the Uk on that list though hehe. Although we do seem to be getting better with each olympics!

Lol.

Well, aren't USA, Japan, PRC and some others the leading ones at the moment?

PRC are probably going to get it. Home turf and all, hanging with their homies.

Actually, China is in the lead by far for gold medals at the moment. Total medals is good to go for US, but there are more events than are just broadcast on TV.

Stop being so impressionable.

America is going to own in track and field, one of the Chinese weak spots. And no one else is even close to them, so obviously...

I reckon that this will be the first Olympics in donkeys years that the good old US of A will not get a medal in the mens 100 m and I think that the lad Bolt will break Michael Johnsons 200 m world record, to boot.

USA USA USA my fucking arse.

Anybody who thinks the USA is going to dominate in track and field is likely to get a nasty shock :D

I voted China. They will definitely win the most golds. The U.S. might have had a chance with the Hamms (is that spelled right?), but not now. In track, the U.S. might do good, but not good enough.

anyone watch the mens 100m, Usain Bolt fooking hell he's fast. was he taking the piss at the end. :D =D>

right what a day for medals for the Brits. 3.30AM was watching Rebecca Addlington win the 800m freestyle in a WR. watched Phelps scrape through to win his 7th gold. very tight indeed, thought he lost it.

then during the day, Mens Coxless 4 won Gold for GB and 2 Bronze medals in the Mens and Womens sculls pairs.

Cycling, Bradley Wiggins Gold and Steven Burke won Brone in the Individual Pursuit. won a Bronze in the Points Race. The Mighty Chris Hoy won Gold and Ross Edgar won Silver in the Keirin. nobody could keep up with the power of Hoy. we've definetly got a Gold and Silver in the Womens 4km event. their race off is tomorrow.

That 100 m final was amazing, he broke the world record and was pissing around too. I mean what the hell? How is that possible?

We're also guaranteed 2 sailing medals tomorrow :D

Plus the mens + womens 8s in the rowing medal chances.

Go Team GB!

     16 Gold medals. count them, GB are doing brilliant. Christina Ogharohu(spelling) was fantastic in the 400m. the American woman went to fast over the first 300m and ran out of steam.

Cycling squad 7 golds on the track and 1 on the road, plus a chance of 1 in the womens BMX. The Mighty Chris Hoy 3 Gold Medals. he's has 4 gold and a bronze in his Olympic career, the 2nd best Brit of all time and the best Scot. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>
