This story is soo amazing though because an 85 year old woman defeated the bad guy. She made him call the cops. Amazing....

Yay guns!

i love stories like this, where some punk ass tries to take advantage of someone and ends up getting his ass kicked by an old guy/woman.
the best word that comes to mind is justice. i like it a little better when they just go ahead and shoot the bad guy tho.

and some people want to eliminate the second amendment.... [-X

80 people per day die and twice that number are seriously injured from guns in the USA, no other leading nation has figures that remotely compare with this . Gun ownership is deeply imbedded in the American physche and is unlikely to change but how is it anything to be proud of :?

Bullets fall back to earth at the same rate of speed from which they left the muzzle of the of the gun.

I remember reading a sad story after Gulf War Part I, where citizens in Kuwait fired off AK-47s and M-16s in celebration for victory, but since the streets were so crowded, they suffered awful casualties from the bombardments of 7.62mm rounds falling back down upon their heads.

If you're going to quote fabricated statistics you need a fabricated source at the very least. Until you give us a link don't be offended that we regard your input as BS.

Come on now, don't you know that 98% of all statistics are made up on the spot?

Figures quoted from an April 2007 article in the New York Times, statistics were taken from the CDC which is a US government agency ( source website for verification at end of article ) That seems to me about as unbiased as one is likely to find so if the figures are fabricated then dont blame me  ( Incidently I have seen articles from pro gun organisations who question the CDC conclusions but not the overall numbers, for example they argue lower degrees of young person deaths and higher degrees of suicides )
