I noticed that the first thing told about him is that he is a catholic. Why do you guys care so much about the religion of the person? Shouldn't his stance, not his religious views influence voters?

well i am a hillary clinton supporter and would have supported obama if he would have picked her, but now i will vote McCain for sure, what a sad day, obama loses, if he knew his history he would know that biden is tainted, and uses others speeches, well maybe they do fit good together

Wow. I was going to put something up about how the VP is far less important than the economic advisers surrounding either of the major candidates, and how the people surrounding Obama are people I trust to help turn this country around far more than the people surrounding McCain (same people, ideologically, that surrounded Bush).

But then I saw my copy of the NY Times had arrived, and on the front of page of this week's magazine, is an article all about that.

So I'm going to read it first, then offer opinions, if any.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/24/magaz ... =permalink

There's a link, if interested.

As for Biden, he's an excellent choice. Early on in the Democratic primaries, I was impressed with Biden's foreign policy knowledge, something our new administration is desperately going to need, and something the current administration has been sorely lacking.

i dont really understand a lot of the pro-mccain former hillary vote to be honest. Aside from the fact that hes a bit more liberal than she is on most things. Maybe they are the more centrist democrats?

Biden honestly is a pretty sound choice, especially when you figure the foreign policy debacle obama makes for himself from time to time.

It's good to know you seem to have no idea about the stances of any politician.

"We" don't care.
Unfortunately the media feels it necessary to report.

If McCain were to pick Romney, then it would be all about his Mormonism.

The vast majority of Americans honestly don't care what a candidate's religious preference is.

i believe this is more or less true. Though in a world with the Christian right as strong as it is you never quite know. Not to say that it would be a deciding factor for the vast majority of anybody, but it probably does lay in the back of more minds than most of us would like to admit, both members of the faith and not.

I'm not too sure about that though. Certainly being an atheist or Muslim or Satanist will affect your popularity a great deal.

I don't think most of them really care as long as the candidates believe in the Christian god.

We have had, what, one Catholic President?

You're telling me Americans don't care...?

So it's officially established that US Americans care about what religion someone else has and partially base their opinion of this person's suitability to hold public office on this person's religious beliefs. No news there, but is there any chance of them stopping doing that?

Also:
Foxnews has a grammatical mistake in their article. A virtual cookie to the next person who spots it.
And bigdaddyslim, the last part of your post should read "maybe they do fit together well."

WOW! I can't believe my ears (or eyes)! A liberal like you voting for McCain? McCain will pull in lots of Dem votes. But, alas, whomever is elected was SELECTED for you already. The only way to change governmental policy is by electing a Third Party candidate, and Ron Paul is not running as a third party. I would just prepare yourself for the oncoming depression that is inevitably at hand for you and your children (and our grandchildren will be living in little dirt huts eating bark off of trees!)

Then you will scream for socialism/communism. "Oh, please save us! Give us a good hand out! I will lick your boots! Anything! Just SAVE US!" and POOF!...good bye liberties and hello totalitarianism!

This makes absolutely no sense. Obama and Hillary are far more similar on their stances than Obama and McCain. A vote for Obama is voting for a candidate more lined up with Hillary than McCain, almost a complete opposite.

This has strong implications, that I won't mention.

I'm still just looking at the candidates themselves, however I do feel that this may have a large effect on how some people vote since there seems to have been a large amount of suspicion that someone may try to assassinate Obama in his first year.

Are these implications of relevance to the NWO and at all relate in any way to slogans such as "four more years"?

No, they have to do with race. ;)

Even with that hint I'm still not sure what the implications are supposed to be. I suspect something, but it's so vague that it would be embarrassing to mention it.

For anyone to be a Hillary supporter and then she gets beat in the primaries to then vote for the republican leads you to wonder why such a change in position on the issues? Because Obama is black?

That is a very strange response... guess you really weren't much of a Hillary supporter to begin with
if you can now pledge your vote to her opponant.

its really not going to be uncommon though. The polling numbers seem to suggest, at least theres a chance, that a sizeable chunk of hillary supporters may break party lines and vote for mccain, who is certainly not the exact opposite of clinton.

That's just ridiculous. Even a fruit loop like Kucinich has thrown his full support behind Obama, as well as his supporters.
