CERN - End of the world

Hi,

Just wondered on what everyones opinion of CERN's LHC beam they are firing off tomorrow.

Actual CERN page - http://lhc-first-beam.web.cern.ch/lhc-first-beam/Welcome.html

Telegraphs opinion - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/2650665/Legal-bid-to-stop-CERN-atom-smasher-from-destroying-the-world.html

Should we be delving into the beggining of time, creating a small BIG BANG just to find out the state of matter at the begginging of the known time, well who can prove the big bang was true, we will soon find out.

Firing protons at over the speed of light to collide with each other COULD effects. Perhaps seen as most has gone of scientific reaseach of how the world began could be wrong even slightly could cause potential life-world-universel catastrophes.

P.s look at the below thread, shows a mans opinion of what will happen between 1999-2019 when we start messin around with gravity.

http://www.religioustolerance.org/endwrl14.htm

Just wondered whether anyone else think that this is ridiculous or truly a step forward in technology.
