Now that Heath Ledger made The Dark Knight the great success that it is, what villain(s) would you like to see in the next movie that comes out?

Well, I'm pretty sure Two Face will be in it.

Penguin - A fat man with a monocle. What's better?

It's hard to say. I would never have imagined they'd have been able to do anything with Scarecrow, arguably one of the lamest super villains ever, but the first movie was pretty damn good.

That would be pretty awesome. Plus he probably wouldn't be nearly as corny.

You'll already have guessed I wanna see Harley Quinn.
But I think that a good subject for the follow-up to the last one would be another crazy - the Ventriloquist.
Or maybe a complete change of pace and someone strong and not too bright like Killler Croc or Solomon Grundy.
But I think they'll prbably go with domeone who's been in previous Bats movies - Pebguin, Catwoman, Mr Freeze.

Actually, I had heard Johnny Depp was in talks for taking the role of Riddler.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure Two Face is dead. The whole point of putting the murders on Batman to protect the hero status of Dent was because Dent was dead, and wouldn't go off the deep end again. With Batman as the scape goat, Dent can be the martyr, instead of crushing the hopes of the citizenry with yet another major disappointment in leadership.

I have always liked Harley Quinn, to be honest. An interesting character, and too recent to have been spoiled by that campy Batman series in the 60s.

Damn you for making me choose between Quinn, Freeze, Ivy, and the Riddler!

I'd like to see the Joker again but since that's probably not going to happen, I'll have to go with the Riddler.

I think the problem with someone not very bright is that it will just a rah rah rah destroy everything and everybody with his bare hands type of movie. To me the highly intelligent villains add the thriller element to the movie that you wouldn't get with some guy who only has brute strength. It might work out if there was a brighter villain in control of Bane or Croc.

On a youtube video of the Dark Knight, someone mentioned wanting to see the Mad Hatter in the next film. The Hatter as Batman fans know, was a pedophile who kidnapped little girls and named them Alice from Alice in Wonderland. Wouldn't it make for an interesting story if the Hatter came and kidnapped Harvey Dent's daughter?

Harley Qyinn would also be a good one to see. Maybe she would help Joker escape from jail. She was probably the most deceptively evil villains out there.

I'm not sure I'd want to see someone take over Heath's role as the Joker.

There would be too much hype, the actor would not be able to live up to it and a very memorable character will be ruined

I really wish he could be but I doubt it. Probably going to be the Riddler which would be a good role for Johnny Depp to play in my opinion.

He was a joke in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, so he'd be the best one to take Jim Carry's place on the Batman actors wall of shame.

Bane's not just a "smash and crash" guy right? He masterminded the whole arkam breakout and let everyone beat down on Batman and then he came in and.. "broke the bat". That's as much as I know about Bane though.. I know he's been in a bunch of stories since the Knightfall thing but I don't know what's he's done in them.

I picked Ivy.

And, Harley is pretty cool, how come they havn't done a Deadpool/Harley Quinn crossover yet? That would be pure gold.

Ooooh, maybe they could have Harley and Ivy in the movie. I don't think it would be hard to bring in Harley for the thrid movie..

1) They won't even try to resurrect the joker as a villain.
2) Anything even remotely connected to Jim Carey is by definition corny.
3) Even historically brutish villains would be portrayed as more complex, because this interpretation of batman prides itself in being especially dark, intelligent, and deep.

riddler spun off of the joker somehow would be interesting

you know... some crazy guy who realizes he can do something similar. and then by adding that harley quinn can also come into play

Isn't the whole point of Bane that he's a supergenius who is also ripped. Rather than just a big dude with a peanut for a brain?

Sure, in that appalling film titled "Batman and Robin" they reinvented Bane to be a generic goon whose only talent was to loom menacingly in corners and to grunt whenever he required lavatory breaks... but that's really not what he's supposed to be. Y'know, given that in his first outing he solved Riddler's clue-trails faster than Batman, played Gotham City like a marionette, then snapped Batman like a twig.

Here, for those who haven't seen comic-book Bane in action, check out his wikipedia entry.

Anyway, Bane fanyboying aside: Who would I like to see as the next Batman Villain?

Catwoman - No. Pfeiffer played the character so well the first time out, and she even got her own (apparently awful, though I never saw it) spin-off film not so long ago. It's been done, and although it could be good... it'd just be too predictable.
Penguin - Cobblepot? Seriously? Bring us a proper villain, not just an evil version of the Monopoly Guy.
Mad Hatter - No but really, he's about 4ft tall and he's called the 'Mad Hatter'. He's just about the shittest Batman Villain ever.
Clayface - Stupid Shapeshifter sub-baddy... possibly. But given that the current run of Batman films is steering fairly clear of the whole 'actual superpowers and supernatural abilities' thing. I'd guess not. Also, there's others I'd rather see more.
Harley Quinn - Yeah, why not. Joker-Femme... it's got some mileage for a film I think. The only thing that stops it is the whole "we wouldn't want to just be a crap version of Heath Ledger's Joker" factor.
Poison Ivy - This would be awesome. I would spend an unhealthy amount of money seeing a new Batman film with Poison Ivy in. I would also probably run out of tissue paper within three days.
Killer Croc - This could also be cool. KC is a villain with more mileage than just 'big dude'... but I can't see them doing it.
Mr Freeze - Yeah, love Ahhhnold as much as I do... Mr Freeze deserves a more faithful representation. Also, he's got some fairly complex motivations that'd make a good brain-engaging action flick.
The Riddler - Sure, Depp is a fine actor etc... but I just thing Mr E. Nigma is gay. Sorry. I don't like the question marks, I don't like the leaving riddles thing, and I just think he's a lamer version of the Joker.
Bane - Actually, this is the Batman film I want to see made. If you hadn't guessed from my fanboyish antics earlier, I think Bane rules.
The Ventriloquist - Until I heard the "Depp = Riddler" rumors a week ago, this guy is who I'd have put money on appearing in the next film. He's not my favourite villain, but I think he'd make a pretty good film adversary.

To cut a long story short: I'd like to see Bane as a villain because I think it'd make for the best film; and/or Ivy because she's awesome, and because my wrist can never have enough exercise.

Interesting points mustard, now I will share mine:

*Catwoman: Probably not. All she was good for was robbing stores at night. She had the whole sadomasochistic thing going on, but I think another Batman film revolving around his lovelife would make the movie a nausiating experience.

*Penguin: Might not be a bad idea, if the movie can properly portray him as a freak who lived in sewers with penguins all his life. The Penguin from Batman Returns was an absolute fucking joke.

*Mad Hatter: The fact that he is 4 feet tall makes him less physically intimidating, so he will have to rely on his intelligence to carry out his evil deeds. I don't want to see any unrealistic mind controlling devices.

*Clayface: Such a stupid bad guy I don't even remember him. I agree we need to do away with these supernatural powers.

*Harley Quinn: Yes yes yes yes yes! I would like to see her take on a role that doesn't centre around being the Joker's lover. Harley had a very childish personality- seemingly innocent and happy-go-lucky, but if they could develop her as someone with a dangerous temper, she could be frightening.

*Poison Ivy: The one in Batman and Robin was so bad I don't want to see another one. I have no interest in seeing plants with supernatural powers either.

*Killer Croc: He's a freak like the Penguin. The two could go well together, but I wouldn't want to see him as the main villain.

*Mr.Freeze: A stupid character in my opinion, but if they could find a way to realistically freeze people it could make for some frightening scenes.

*Riddler: I never understood what his deal is. To me, he's just another version of the Joker. No.

*Bane: If he's smart, he might be worth it.

*The Ventriloquist: An excellent idea. They could do a lot of things with this crazy character.
