Here you go because some idiot in my class can't revise

We were in class the other day and we had to revise each other's paper. The idiot who had mine couldn't do it. Here's the body without the salutation and closing:
I completely agree with Mike Lupica’s article about Sarah Palin in Monday, September fifteenth’s paper. The only reason why McCain chose Palin was to try to get the votes of woman voters. And anyone who tries to criticize either one of them is called either sexist or unpatriotic. Politics should not be like this.
Politicians should debate each other based on the issues, not about whether someone wears lipstick or not. Politics should not be about swift boating nor should it be about mocking another’s race, religion, or physical features. American politics has strayed from this so much that the issues do not even seem to matter to some politicians. No wonder more people vote for “American Idol” than for the presidential election. We no longer have a basis on which to decide whom to elect.
This is getting worse with each generation. Anyone can tell; just talk to people of different generations. Talking to other students my age, most of the time I feel like I am talking to mindless zombies. They all talk in “txt sp33k.” If we are supposed to be the future of America, imagine how much worse we will be with the majority of people unable to think for themselves. We need to change this now, before we lose all hope of returning to normality.

take out the "txt sp33k" and put in "text speak". People will know what you're talking about and having that in there like it is is just stupid.

More people also vote for American Idol because it's significantly easier to do. To vote you need to register, fill out several types of information (which is easy to find, just tedious), and on top of that, you have to actual go locate a voting booth on voting day and wait in line and such.
Concerning American Idol, you can use your phone. Easy + done.
This is coming from someone who IS a registered voter but doesn't vote for American Idol... I just dislike when stupid biased facts are always posted... people generally hear a small quip from someone and take it to be the entire story/fact.

I have 3 points.
1. american idol allows people under the age to vote and you can vote as many times as you want.
2. just because kids use txt sp33k doesn't mean that they all do or that they will forever be txt sp33kers. they're kids for fucks sakes.
and...
3. every generation thinks that the next generation is full of idiots. this is because we forget how retarded we acted when we were that age.
Politics is a fucked up institution because its not about policy. Its fucked up because there are no consequences for your actions. even if you completely f*ck the whole nation over with a6 foot hot poker with barbs on one end in the ass till it comes out of your mouth, dangling with entrails and shit, you still aren't going to have to answer for anything, but god fucking help you if you get a blow job from a fat intern.
sorry, off on a rant there, please carry on.

I disagree.
Writing it the way he did was creative and more descriptive than your "text speak". By the way, if you're going to call someone stupid, try not to fumble your grammar - it makes you look stoopid.

Actually, voting for American Idol (can't stand the show myself) makes a lot more sense than voting in an election where we've been clearly shown (twice) that the popular vote doesn't count for shit. I would feel trivial voting for American Idol, but i would feel stoopid voting for president. Just a thought.

I've read it a couple times and I can't spot the grammatical error. Granted, it's not the best piece of grammatical work, but I'm not seeing any fumbles.

The repeated "is"? That was intentional.
having that in there......like it is....is just stupid.
Perhaps commas were in order. Like I said, not a masterpiece, but not a fumble.

it flows like a dry river bed. Here, allow me.
You should take out "txt sp33k" and replace it with "text speak". The way it is written makes it harder for people to understand if they aren't familiar with the term, and that is just fucking dumb.

Stupidest damn thing ever. Over here we get a voting-ticket on our name in the mail and don't have to register or fill in forms. Just go to the voting booth, deliver the ticket and vote.

because you are 13, you should not listen to those who are your elder? listen to me when i say that comparing the voting mechanism of american idol to that of the american political system is like comparing apples to all fruit. not all americans can vote, like convicts and children. anyone can vote on american idol.

Point? I'm 14. Anyways I agree with point 1 but not with 2 or 3. After several hours of going on AIM, I start thinking in text speak, and whenever I do I remind myself it is the most pathetic thing in the world. I see kids my age, see how stupid they are, see how irresponsible they are, and try and avoid that as much as possible. One of the foremost reasons I detest my country is because of how ignorant, stupid, useless, and irresponsible the kids my age are. I seriously fear for the future. I'd like to think kids my age in other countries are different, but I don't know. I'm hoping to take a year in Israel or go backpacking for a year in Europe after high school, but I'm not quite sure.

Hey, don't you worry. The real world has a way of shutting kids up and making them mature whether they like it or not. Kids today are no different than yesterday or yesteryear. They were all stupid and immature.
If there is any difference at all, it comes from being coddled to much and not from stupidity, and a slap in the face from the real world is always the remedy to coddling.

your generation is full of idiots because your generation is pre to early teen age. this should not suggest that you will always be this way.

A lot of people get annoyed with the teenage attitude of kids these days, but it is not fair to classify every teenager into that category. You haven't even met the poster so why assume that he is the way a lot of teenagers are?
