A few weeks ago, when all the talk was about Sarah Palin and McCain was surging in the polls, I thought it'd be a good idea. Anything to get people to shut the f*ck up about this stupid woman and make the campaign about Obama again. Plus, it'd generate a lot of excitement.

But then Fannie and Freddie went down, and I don't think it's necessary anymore. And it's not like people don't like Biden. So it's all good now. Nobody gives a shit about Palin anymore.

I give a shit how she's a terrible prospect for vice-president.

Well, yes, me too. But that's not the sense I meant.

the democrats are just as bad. they only care about their agenda and how they want to tax and spend while taking my right to bear arms away. republicans want to spend and spent while telling people that they don't have the right to civil unions or abortions. its agenda agenda agenda when it should be about each state's right to govern, not the federal government. Nor should the fed be buying the banking system. meanwhile, our enemies are closing in, wolves are at the gates my friends and we are not ready.

You know, I'm really starting to wonder how long it'll take people to realize that they do actually have more than two choices.

Really? Evidently you missed the Bush/Gore election, and never heard of the Nixon/Kennedy election. The popular vote is easily overturned by the electorate (guess who runs that?). My point - you have no fucking choices whatsoever. Cheers.

Only if you try start at the top. You have to work up from the bottom. Inspire political diversity in the state legislatures and administrations and the federal government will be forced to comply.

Exactly! Vote luns101!

I mean it, just imagine if luns managed to rack in a thousand votes or something across the US, hilarity would ensue and an obscure Canadian gaming site would be on the news. Possibly people would be interviewed via ICQ and we could spread our conservatorily liberal constitution-upholding libertarian views.

...until the media got a few people to join CC and then dug up some choice quotes from this forum - I was gonna list a few, but then I thought, no, why give 'em any pointers...

I'll let you handle those interviews, MeDeFe. You're a lot more tactful than I am. Sometimes I just get so emotional about defending this country from the terrorists.....I....I....I just can't seem to delineate between them and the press!!

Then we've got DaGip going around mocking me as the Anti-Luns! Luns is gettin' upset...where's Guiscard?!!Someone get me a donut before I lose it or I'm going after Keith Olbermann!! Aaaaahhhhh!!

Vote Luns101 and increased powers for Homeland Security...you can trust me ;)

Why don't you actually write something in regards to the thread at hand? Hmmm?

Your powers are weak, and mine are strong! You have failed in your quest, and now only the AntiLuns reigns supreme!

Why do you fools even care who Obama's VP pick is, there will be NO PRESIDENT elected! This is the end of your nation...the AntiLuns has spoken.

Good Day! (*Paul Harvey impression here*)

I think it would be a stupid move on Obama's part. Last time I checked, he's moved into a pretty good lead in the polls, so I don't think he would want to make any unnecessary moves that could potentially damage his reputation.

But if Biden declared health problems or concerns (which wouldn't be lying) and thought it would be better if he was not considered for the VP anymore, that's a different story.

No I would still say that any changes at this point are unnecessary, even if he does claim illness. You can't guarrantee how the public will react so don't try it when you have a lead.

DaGip, you're a photshop genius

Alright, as to the topic at hand: I do not believe that Hillary will replace Biden as the VP nominee. Obama would be playing right into the hands of the "he doesn't have enough experience to make wise decisions" crowd. So many people would say, "See! We told ya so" if he did get rid of Biden and replaced him [with anyone]. If he [Biden] cited health issues as the reason for leaving the campaign it wouldn't fly because then you'd have people questioning him when he returned to the Senate as to why he doesn't give up his senate seat.

The hardcore Obama supporters who would support him no matter what would respond by saying, "But he had the courage to change his pick in the middle of the campaign!" "He's soooo courageous!!"

That's how I think it would play out if Biden stepped down...but I don't think he will. Oh man, I hope he doesn't...he's been the best thing for the McCain campaign. So just in case:
