And alas another one of the Hollywood greats has left us. Humanatarian, actor, race car driver and entrepreneur(where all his proceeds went to charity). Almost anything he did seemed to be in a positive way. His charity work was almost more known than his acting. He will be truly missed. I will always enjoy The Sting, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Cool Hand Luke, The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean and one my favorite, Slapshot. God Bless Paul and all the memories you gave.

bloody good Film Actor..... I don't lament his passing.
Christ! he was about 112 and lived a life which he can't really have regretted much. Talent and good looks coming out of his eyes and apparently with enough introspection to find genuine kindness.
eat another egg you old git! here's to the Newman!

He was pretty wonderful. He married a relatively plain woman by hollywood standards and was a devoted family man. He once said, when asked about infidelity: 'why go out for hamburger when you can have steak at home'? And let's face it, the guy must have had plenty of offers - I'd have put my slippers under his bed any day.....though not now of course.
Didn't think much of his salad dressing, but the man was a good 'un.

First movie i saw him in was "Cool Hand Luke", and i was hooked. One of my childhood heroes/role models. He left a big ass gap in the motion picture industry.

One my favourite actors. The man oozed charisma and charm. Butch and Sundance is a classic.
See ya 'Butch'

So many movie memories the guy gave us but here's just two of them:
My favorite Paul Newman movie was The Color of Money as Fast Eddie Felson. I'll never forget when he was playing against Steve Mizerak, who made a cameo appearance in the pool tournament as Felson's opponent. After Felson (Newman) defeats him Mizerak goes, "I didn't deserve that" and Newman replies, "Yes, yes you did!"
The other moment was in Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid:
"Kid, the next time I say, "Let's go someplace like Bolivia," let's GO someplace like Bolivia!"
"NEXT TIME!!" (angry look from Redford)

Let us not forget The Sting. I myself liked it better than Butch and Sundance, but then Butch and Sundance had one of my all time favorite movie lines - " Oh Shhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit".

heh, on the jump.
I prefer the Sting too... I can't watch Butch and Sundance too often. I suppose it is mainly the unforgettable and uncomfortable ending. That also makes it a better film of course - Hollywood can leave us a shitty feeling to close on once in a while.
