I'm moving to the Hopi reservation. The Ant People are coming to evacuate them to the Fifth World. I want to be on that Star Ship! Angel Mike is the pilot...
But anyway, if things go really bad, some of you might get a little antsy and grab a gun. Well, the government is one step ahead of you and has actual military bases set up just for civilian crowd control, and they are armed with all the secret non lethal weapons. The country is split up into ten different sections for people to be shipped off to.
It is just best to keep the peace and learn to grow corn. That's what I am going to do.
I will see you all on the Hopi Reservation soon!
I will be calling down the Starship Melissa and you will all see it on TV! It will be so cool!
You guys will love the ANgel Mike!

Some people are easily amused. Btw, we know you like the assprowler because he took up for you when the chaps were raping you on the flame forum - remember, you called yourself "The Lion" then. Heh heh.

Yeah, what the heck. TheProwler makes me laugh sometimes too... If you guys are so hell-bent that he's ruining FW, then why don't you go and take FW back? It's not like you aren't given the tools to shut him up in there.

You miss the point. Assprowler and whump ruined flame wars by posting too much drivel. To respond to him (and her) just elicits more drivel. That's how flame wars was ruined - not so much assprowler and whump, but morons (like "The Lion") responding to their posts, which caused an endless chain of boring ass drizzly shit.
It was all calculated on assprowler's part - something along the lines of "if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, inundate them with a ton of bullshit. To make sure the bullshit was nonstop, assprowler let whump use his avvy to post, and in return he used whump's avvy to play (which is how whump got his rank to rise above cook).
Now "The Lion" has changed his name in hopes that he can start anew, and no one will remember him for the twat he was. Brilliant!

DM would be ideal as a Flame War mod, but then we'd miss his usual posts. No, the only solution would be to get rid of whump, and his surrogate daddy would follow wherever he went.

There is a certain irony in that the far right of the Republican party will be the toast of Moscow and Beijing tonight, daresay the Islamists will be raising a glass ( fruit juice ) as well.

First article i saw on it seemed to suggest that some of the republicans are blaming partisan politics from Pelosi, for what it is worth.
Well it (the stock market tumble) was bound too given that the bill was possible to even not pass. I think oil is down a fair amount too given a lack in confidence at the moment globally.

I blame all those people sitting in that room trying to come up with a solution. Each one of them is either not an economists, or they are, and do not have our best interests in mind.

I'm
thinking it's a trap to help get support for the bill.

I just think its a bit of a weak cop out. If you really stand against the bail out, stand against it. Dont hedge so much that you would either be willing to commit or not commit at least 700 billion dollars because a polarizing figure said you werent doing your job right. I mean seriously, give up your foolish pride.

Oh christ. I should have bailed yesterday
Seriously, how the hell did they reach this decision? Didn't they look at what Japan did a few years back? Pretty much the exact same situation, though property was actually even more over-valued. Government steps in with 100bn to save the financial system, banks have to agree to not be such tits, make losses for a few years before returning to profit, far stronger and secure, government eventually makes money on the deal by selling off what they bought for more than they paid when the market recovers.
I'm serious, it's 1929 for the US all over again, only this time when you recover, China will own you.
I honestly am flabergasted at this. Every single taxpayer will pay for this for the next 15 years.. except a lot of them won't BE paying taxes because they won't have jobs.
Good job guys.

Nah Uh. But they want to.
But if they have any leverage on us, they'll have a sh*tload of leverage on you buddy.

We say no.
But they want to vote again on it later today...

OF COURSE they'll have leverage on us, you really think we don't know exactly how fucked the world markets are if you let your economy collapse?
I said in another thread that I'd far rather the world was led by America than China. They will be PRAYING that you don't take the necessary action to save yourselves and us.
How can you vote against saving an economy and, oh, by the way, making money? It defies belief. If you don't rescue yourselves from the stupidity of your banks this will be so mindblowingly disastrous I don't even have the words.

I think that you are lacking an understanding exactly what they are asking for. Are they saying that this bill is a good thing in the UK?
