Should Americans stop stockpiling food?

Seems one of our national pastimes might be seen as greedy with our food by other countries.

Farm kid here .. and CA "Eco-educated" type as well...

US is still a major exporter of food. Africa could easily feed itself, as could most of the world ... if allowed to do so. The problem is not the food we eat or keep, the problem is economic policies that don't take realities of every day people's lives into account AND farming policies that are based on things that word (though only partially) here and trying to make them "fit" in a very, very different ecosystem and economy.

OR, if you want to make a difference, buy organic, DO process excess and invest in groups that are teaching folks to fish instead of mailing fish overseas.... etc.
