It's gotta be....

As most of you know, the younger generations have a very rebelious attitude. I don't blame them one bit. I'm even a little rebelious at times. When I was younger I was nothing but rebelious. Well ladies and gentleman, I figured out the primary reason for rebeling in general. It all started with innocent family TV shows. Let me explain. In almost every family show there is the same approach of parenting dating back as far as I can remember. TV parents have always told their children what was wrong and what they weren't allowed to do. When family TV shows first came out, think about how real parents with no clue how to raise their children would take this in. Sure, it would've seemed like a great idea but when you take a deeper look into this you'll discover the downfall of this plan. Rebelious children are rebelious because they simply want to live their own life. I understand parents go through these actions because they care about their children but at what point do you start to wonder if you're doing the right thing. I realized that my own rebelious attitude came from simply wanting to learn the lessons of life for myself. I just wanted to be part of the real world. By the real world, I mean experiencing life trials for myself instead of staying clear from them because I knew what the result would be because of my parent's teaching. Children can only be sheltered so much and when the sheltering covers all aspects of life, it leaves a person with a feeling of isolation from the world. Inorder to correct this feeling, rebeling works wonders. Well, that's enough for now.

Something to do with Uncle Caveman, I believe.

Don't forget Gregrios that parents rebel too.
MY parents both left school at 14, and resented that they'd started life without an adequate education.
They interested themselves fanatically in my grades, my rank in class, which school I got into at 11, etc etc, to a stifling extent. Neither of them were actually able to help me with my studies particularly (see above), so their encouragement tended to be lectures about how lucky I was to get a chance at an education, they only wished they'd had the chance, etc etc. - all this was rebelling against their own upbringing.
I in my turn am far too ready to jump in and help my kids with their wortk, rather than letting them sort it out on their own. I'm also far too ready to accept excuses for uncompleted homework, etc. This is rebelling against the crap that my parents sometimes laid on me.

No it didn't.
It started way earlier than that.

I hear what you're saying but it's not quite the same thing. You're definitely referring to rebelling but just not in the same way that I am. You're referring to what I like to call natural rebellion or unconscious rebellion, while I'm referring to rebelling in the consciously defient sense. Ya dig?

Of all the tall tales, I think my favorite is the one about Eli Whitney and the interchangeable parts.
